NEWZELAND VICTORY OVER AUSIS
by sreekanth on Feb 21, 2007 10:28 AM  | Hide replies

What a chase. Nice run chase foreever in the cricket history. A thrilling match ended in the victory of kiwis. After losing 4 wickets they fight back into the victory. No other team cannot even dream such a chase in consecuitive matches successfully other than kiwis. Their form reveals the consistensy. They would be one of the semifinalist in the WC.

Consistency is a relative word. No doubt kiwis have risen to the occassion and have announced their coming of age with a bang! But one must keep in mind that the pitches these matches were played was true and even bounce pitches. West Indies is a different proposition altogether. To be labelled as a performing team, a team must perform well on all types of pitches. It remains to be seen how Kiwis or for that matter Australia perform in West Indies.

Good chance for NZ
by Krishnendu Bhattacharyya on Feb 21, 2007 09:14 AM

After white washing the Aussies, the Kiwis will come strong in the WC. I guess they have a good chance to make it to the semi finals. And, who knows, can win the cup as well. This year, I think, England will be the dark horse... Of course I pray some miracles to happen and Rahul and his boys .... (you know what)

Good News
by Devang Dani on Feb 21, 2007 08:46 AM

This is a good news for Cricket overall. It was just getting boring with Australia being the front runner and other teams way behind. Healthy competition is good for any sport. I wish team India could also achieve similar feat in World Cup.

Australia is involved in greatest match fixing scandal ever

Australia is involved in greatest match fixing scandal ever I guess...Simply they keep on losing all the matches so that the bookies and the australian team can share the profits of the bettings..Now u ppl dont get surprised if Australia wins the world cup without any struggle because now the bettings will be low on the OZ and again it will be profit for the australian team....

All those who responded to my message on betting - this is for you.

It doesn't matter if a team has a potent bowling attack or depleted; or which team you are passionate about to win. It's about money honey.

Odds of winning or losing are moved around by frontrunner losing the matches.

West Indies made it to the finals of ICC Champions trophy by beating India and then India whipped them away this year. I say West Indies NEEDED to make it to the finals of ICC champions trophy so that ICC World cup is a commercial success in West Indies.

So on and so forth...

There was no reason for Mr Sengupta to bring in a discussion about Saurav in the first place...the article relates to an Aus-NZ match. And for the rest of us, let's not get worked up just because someone has started an irrelevant discussion. Let's not blame an entire community just because there are a few fanatics here and there.

Makings of an excellent world cup
by Kunal Gujraty on Feb 21, 2007 04:17 AM  | Hide replies

1) NZ beating Aussies comprehensively
2) SA number one team
3) Indian team getting the rhythm back
4) England coming to the WC with some good results in recent ODIs

Add to the mix, the hurt ego of the Aussies after a complete whitewash, the unpredictability of Pakis, the potential of SL and WI to create upset on any day and that gives the most open WC championship in recent history.
