Game getting fairer
by Krishna Moorthy on Feb 20, 2007 07:52 PM

The successful big chases are making the game of cricket more fairer. The fear of big scores is vanishing slowly..posting a huge total is not a sure win! Thats good for the game. Even the best bowlers can not defend a big total!! Good for the great uncertinities of the game

Problem Area - Balling
by execute on Feb 20, 2007 07:12 PM

continious 5th defeat, People has started talking about Austrlia's dominance is finished on world cricket. Australia's problem is their balling, Glen and Shane are retired. no Jason Gillespie no Kasprowicz. Australian is playing with very mediocre balling attack. 18 years back Westindian dominance was finished when their 5 main ballers took retirement. " IF YOU WANT TO BE WORLD BEATER YOU HAVE TO HAVE BEST BALLING ATTACK" THIS QUOTE PROVED AGAIN. EVEN INDIA NEED IT BADLY.

Pet Cren
Australia and Subcontinent teams
by Pet Cren on Feb 20, 2007 06:53 PM

Australia loose this match because of the BOWLING and not BATTING. Even with Pointing, Gillchirst and others in the team they wont be making 340 runs or more. That means that the Kiwis and south africa and Engand are no longer intimidated by australian bowling. I mean Australia batting is still the same. Their bowling attack is Very good. Bret Lee and Glen Mcgrath still bowl the same way like they use to. Shaun tait regularly clocks 154 kmph regularly. Mitchell Johnson and Bracken are still much better than than say Ifan, Rana Naved or Lewis or any of the Bowlers produced by other countries. But the only difference is other countries batsman are giving the bowlers back instead of letting them get intimidated. About Subcontinent countries(except Srilanka)the less said the better. A bowler like Mitchell johnson who get regularly thrash by kiwis get a haul of 5 wickets against India even as Chanderpaul and gayle belted the oz bowlers. A crap bowler ike Andre nel tormented India and Pakistan batsman during the recent African tour. Even West indies and Srilanka does not get intimidated by Oz and african bowlers. Nothing to be said about India and Pakistan fielding and bowling below par not even average. Sri lankan batsman thrash Kiwis in Kiwiland. Indian and Pakistaan batsman are just FLAT TRACK heros palying in HOME CONDITIONS. So Australia despite their loses are in a much better position to win the CUP than India or Pakistan. I would say that the semi finals possibilities among 8 countries will be (Australia/Srilanka/England/ WEst Indies ) any two and South Africa and New Zealand. India and Pakistan out in the second round.

Remeber what happened in 2003
by Prem Kumar on Feb 20, 2007 06:33 PM

India was the team which almost got Whitewashed(4-0 initially, then became 5-2) by NZ in 2003, just before the world cup. I think losing to NZ just before WC is a blesing in Disguise.

Everyone wrote India off. India started Badly struggling against Holland and losing badly to Australia. Then the Indians got some hard treatment back home(There was a crowd booing india infront of Kaif and Dravid's house and a huge uproar in Kolkatta). After this India won all the match except the final.

And when it come to WC, it is anyones game. If Kenya can reach Semi Finals(They had just one good game and they got two walkovers), then anything can happen. I would love to see India in WC semi finals. If all our players peak at right time and get back to form, then believe me, this is the team to watch.

Aussis Making Fool
by amit kumar on Feb 20, 2007 06:22 PM

Aussis are very clever team and thier coach too. Their defeat is their win. Dont forget their key player are Adam Gil, Ricky Pon, Adrew Symonds, D Martyn , MCgrath, Lee, all these players are not in the team. They are always best and will remain. U can imazine if thier second class team can good challenge to the other teams what would happen if key players will be there. I am sure it will be their 3rd world cup. Only South Africa & west Indies can stop them. Both team have playes well against aussis with thier key players in the team, Amit

With almost 250 players participating its not so easy to choose 3..But my certain choices would be..

Hussey, Yuveraj and Mohammed Yousuf are my choise.
The reason: Those who can run their singles and create ones and twos will succeed in this WC-07.
The bit hitters: Peitersen, Dhoni, Sanath and Sehwag will struggle immensely.
But my Dark Horse for a sepcial performance is: Saurav Ganguly. Reason: His new found liking for those quick and precise singles and also the ability to wait for that one ball to deposit it in the stands when necessary.
