Out of Ganguly's 18 hundreds, 8 have come in winning cause against Zimbabwe, Bangladesh, Kenya, Namibia etc. His lone hundred against Australia the best team was in a lost cause. So 10 hundreds against other teams leaving minnows have come in victory causes.

While Sachin's 6 hundreds against Australia have come in winning causes. Sachin's 9 hundreds out of 29 have come against Kenya, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Bangladesh etc. So 20 hundreds against rest leaving minnows.

Dravid hasnt scored a hundred against Australia in one dayers. Dravid's 2 hundred have come against UAE and Kenya in winning causes. While 10 of his hundreds apart from those have been in victory causes for India.

Ganguly 41 fifties score in Winning Causes.
14 have come against Bangladesh, Zimbabwe, Ireland, UAE and Canada
Remaining 27 against rest.

Rahul Dravids 47 fifties have come in Winning Causes.
11 have come against UAE, Bangladesh, Canada, zimbabwe and Kenya.
Remaining 36 against the rest.

Sachin Tendulkar 51 fifties have come in Winning Causes.
11 came against UAE, Zimbabwe, Netherlands, Canada and Bangladesh
Remaining 40 came against Rest.

Ganguly has a long way to go before he catches Rahul Dravid in one dayers too as far as Most Valuable Player(MVP) is concerned.

This is for user TEST
by Sameer K on Dec 16, 2007 05:59 PM

Sachin Tendulkar, 2nd Test India V/s South Africa, Newlands, Capetown.

Sachin Tendulkar 169 Runs of 254 balls. Bowlers, ALLAN DONALD, Pollock, Klusner and McMillan.

Allan Donald, 24 overs, 3 maidens, 99 runs and 2 Wickets, Runs per over 4.12 in TEST CRICKET.

Well if you check his records, he has scored hundreds against Australia when Australia had McDermot and Company and again when Australia boosted McGrath, Warne and Company and in Australia.

Apart from that if someone wants to say show sachin demolishing McGrath, Donald etc, then the poor chap wants sachin to bat like a slogger.

Sachin has scored runs at a very healthy run rate against McGrath, Donald etc, kindly go to cricinfo and do advance filter and find it out before you comment.

Kuntak, that is the saddest part of our country - bootlickers are always given prizes for eing loyal to their masters, and not tue performers
if that had happened - If only dedication, Pasion, Commitment to the country had been recognised, India would have been much better off. But that is not to happen. POLITICS RULZZZ

Bootlicking? Perhaps Dravid learnt it from Ganguly who used to lick Dalmiya's boots when he was captain.

Ganguly has made most of his centuries on dead pitches when the matches ended in tame draws.
Also compare the test records of Dravid and Sachin to Ganguly.
He is nowhere in comparison.
He should have been out of the team a long back if only for politicians taking to the street demanding him to be selected again.

Good effort from BCCI.
When we would see awards for following Category: -
Best Fielder
Best Athelete
Best Umpire
Best Coach

Until we are going to start these categories and do really smthing to upgrade ourselves in these categories no real progress is possible.

We do not have even single umpire in ICC's elite panel. Can understand the level at domestic level.
We should get our coaches trained and upgrade them to A team and then senior team.

No need to explain the importance of having good fielders and better athletes.

I can not change your views about Bengali's because you seem to be regionally biased person. BTW If I am barking here, I think you also belong to same category as me. Since you did not, I will get in touch with rediff and will ask for your account details and IP address from where you are typing all these nonsense messages. I will show you what I can do. Satish,

Some of your comments are like this..."you chinese chamcha ?" How can you attack a community like this ? Please note that this an open forum and all these messages can be accessed internationally. So, you must be careful what you write! I am staying in aboard and I know lot of my colleagues who are not Indian but are interested about Indian cricket and they do read articles published in rediff. Just think what impression they will carry about India when they read these abusive comments - have you ever thought this? I am in a process of contacting rediff so that they disclose your identity.

Things which are far worse than chamcha have been written on this forum about other communities.
Perhaps you were blinded by it as you only seem to be affected by abuse directed at your community.
So I suggest you also take a look at other messages posted and report all of them as quickly as possible.

I do not have time to read all these messages. I just picked up you as a sample case. If you want to prove your innocence by saying that others are doing so I am - I guess that will not help! It is something like someone is doing murder so I am also doing the same - what is the need of the education then if it does not help you to differentiate between the good or bad? Please note that I am also not supporting others who use the same abusive language as you do. Once you will see the consequence of using abusive language in an open forum, I think others will learn from your example.

One wonders though do these people still need a crore rupee contracts to survive and make fortunes.

Seriously one cannot help ut think what if these guys were paid only on their performance if we are winning 12 out of 25 matches in a year it will surely go up to 60-65%.

Stats can be deceiving
I challenge any one of you to show me clippings of Sachin demolishing the following bowlers

1)Allan Donald ( cant forget how he uprooted sachins off stump)
2) Glen Mcgrath ( cant forget the no of times he got sachin out esp in world cup)
3) Wasim Akram ( cant forget how he most of times gets sachin caught on off side)
4) De-Villeirs ( cant forget how he mesmerised sachin with his slower balls)

He could never play a crap bowler like Aqib javed who got him out so many times

Sachin plays laloo bowlers and scores runs

Also please give me a situation wheer he has played under deep pressure in one days

He played against the weakest paki bowling attack

Dont tell me SOHAIB..Akhtar had a nightmare in Australia where he got kicked by every australian batsman

Sachin is just records but when it mattered most he has always let u down...

PONTING IS THE REAL STAR,WHO CAN CAPTAIN AND ALSO PLAY in pressure

Sorry all Sachin fans..

CRICKET 'BIBLE' WISDEN SALITES TENDULKAR AND RATES HIM AS THE 2ND GREATEST TEST BATSMAN AND THE GREATEST ODI BATSMAN OF ALL TIME

Cricket's Bible Wisden has devoted special space to Sachin Tendulkar in its latest issue, eulogizing the Indian batting genius for being "miles ahead" of his contemporaries and continuing to "write an elegant, belligerent and unprecedented history".

The write-up says though Tendulkar cannot be the greatest batsman ever in history, "in Tests and one-dayers together, the reality of international cricket today, Tendulkar will take some catching too".

"Tendulkar will never be the greatest batsman in history; that seat is taken. But as much as Donald Bradman's Test average (99.94) outstrips Tendulkar's (57.58), the gap diminishes substantially when other factors are taken into account.

"Tendulkar travels more in a year than Bradman did in a decade; he has had to manage the varying conditions of 49 Test grounds, to Bradman's ten; he has already played twice as many Tests as Bradman, and over 300 one-day games, nearly all of them under the unrelenting scrutiny of television. And whereas Bradman had to cope with the expectations of a small populace, not given to idolatry, in an age of restraint, Tendulkar must play God to one billion expectant worshippers."

Mr You seem to be too much in love to your viewpoint. You are not ready to accept anything. Point sin favour of Sachin since yiu have already read or heard u would not accept. There has not been a single batsman in the world of cricket would never be in future not to get out against the bowlers. Sachin is also not and can not be exception.

Have ever Sachin played innings of some importance against all these bowlers? Certainly Yes.

Has he ever hit these guys for boundries? Certianly Yes.

all these are great bowlers. They also know how to ball against a batsman. They had their moments against Sachin, Sachin too had his moments against these bowlers.

Besides above all the more important thing is Sachin has carried the burden of whole batting on his shoulders on his shoulders all alone. In 98, 99, 20000 the situation was if anyoone can do anything it would be Sachin. Sachin also tried to bat at numbers from 1-10.
Also comparing Sachin with ponting is not fair. Look at the difference between the cultures two countries have. Without taking anything away from Ponting it is easier in Austrailia. First and formost the domestic cricket is really competitive inAus and Caotain at least has smthing to inherit and some kind of security.
Take all these factors into account Sachin os undoubtedly greater to his fellow cricketers and undoubtedly one of the all time Great Cricketers.

Whom are you trying to convince, yourself or others ? Tendulkar won the MOS award in 1999 plaing against McGrath. Tendulkar whipped Akram in 2003 World Cup. Tendulkar dosen't have to score even a a single run more and yet he'll go down as the greatest batsman of his era. One doesn't need to look at your views, when Sir Donald Bradman have already rated Tendulkar as the best batsman.

Your comments and views mean shit, whereas the views of these legends will always remain immortal in history.

First u give us a simple answer that there are hundred of players playing international cricket. Ok, lets suppose sachin floped aginst these bowlers. He scored highest runs in test and one days, no one can reach at those records in both form of cricket. Is not this mean that his counterpart even failed against so called "Weaker bowlers"? You tell me who is better then him? U are exhausting your anger in such a way, as your are one of the so called weak bowler, whos carier finsihed by legend batsman.

2. Wasim Akram - Funny that Akram rates Tendulkar on top along with Viv Richards and Sunny Gavaskar.

3. De Villiars - Don't know much about him.

4. McGrath - Funny that McGrath rates Tendulkar as the 2nd best bastamn he have ever bowled to after Lara.

TENDULKAR TOPS SHANE WARNE'S LIST OF GREATEST CRICKETERS

Sachin Tendulkar topped Shane Warne's countdown of greatest cricketers edging out Brian Lara, who was placed second. Curtly Ambrose, Allan Border and Glenn McGrath rounded out the top five in Warne's Times column.

Warne rated Tendulkar ahead of Lara on account of his mental toughness and hailed him as a "great player and a great man". He wrote, "Outside grounds [in India], people wait until he [Tendulkar] goes in before paying to enter. They seem to want a wicket to fall even though it is their own side that will suffer ... He [Tendulkar] grew up under incredible weight of expectation and never buckled once - not under poor umpiring decisions or anything else."

Warne and Tendulkar clashed several times on the field, but their most most famous battles were on Australia's tour to India in 1997-98. Warne struck the first salvo, dismissing Tendulkar for 4 in the first Test, but was then taken apart in the second, going for 122 runs in 30 overs as Tendulkar smashed a matchwinning unbeaten 155. Tendulkar finished the series with an average of 111, while Warne's ten wickets cost him 54 apiece.
