...just before an Aus tour. All the effort gone down the drain. I can see it coming... 3-0 Aus, what else?

We just don' seem to learn our lessons. All our overseas wins have been without anyone in an official "coach" capacity - check the records.

Status quo is the mantra. Can somebody tell the dimwits in BCCI this...?

Hey dimwit,

Majority of the wins came under John wright/Ganguly combo.. Dont talk about 70s overseas wins which was again by the spin quartet.

Dhoni/Kumble and Kirsten is an ideal combination for the job of India Cricket Team coach.

All three are charming - and either duel of Dhoni/Kirsten or Kumble/Kirsten will provide an awesome leadership to the team in the coming future.

See what kind of magic happens in the coming months in Australia and SA. Team India will win comfortably at both the places.

what good did he do other than resigning. He could have been good coach!! But, he did not gel well with many players in the side(including non-seniors).
Coaching needs man management skills too. You need to go to different school when it comes to managing Indian team.

he was treated badly and he treated the players and media badly, too.
Basically there were just fights all thru his tenure. So, dont know if just one side can be blamed for the entire fiasco!!

I have to tell you! I accept that he defenitely wanted the best for the Indian team as that would have meant 'success' for him.
But, He failed to work with our team/management/media/everyone basically.

Do we need a foriegn coach??????
by Cyril dmello on Dec 05, 2007 02:04 AM  | Hide replies

The indian team is doing well at present so why do we need a foriegn coach. I think Kirsten will go the Chappel way. Only the asian countries want foriegn coaches look at the aussies and england teams. If BCCI has a lot of money they shud donate same for the upliftment of other sports like hockey and football. The cricket players are only making money and we fools sit and watch them play at the risk of our own jobs. Sachin and the rest please step down and give others a chance.

we need a foreign coach at least to stop the politics in team selection. If an Indian is selected as coach, we will choose the players from his own region/cast

Greg resigned under pressure. Anyway who likes a boss who's busy keeping u on tour toes. If my boss was after me to perform it was for the benefit for the company same with the cricket team. Our players like to sit and laze with greg around they couldnt do that. Ganguly always dives over the ball. Our cricketers always rub the mud from their sponsor's labels when they dive. The aussies and south africans dive for their country
