cricketers are accountable to the aficiandoes
by s.v.karthik on Mar 26, 2006 12:14 AM

victories and defeats are integral parts of all games as they keep us captivated all day long and most certainly cricket in india. we indians know you cannot be at the top of ur game through out ur career and there will be days where in things just fall apart and you lose. but what piques me more is the way they capitulated with zero application accolades galored on the sehwags, the tendulkars and dhonis when they sent the bowlers on a leather hunt on the feather beds of pakistan. but when the same men of honour were in their whites on a slightly responsive wicket at the wankhede, they were found wanting. you often hear our well professed commentators singing praises of these belligerent batsmen and also shielding them for their lack of footwork, technique saying at the end of the day u need to score runs. but why do they not understand that to score runs, you have to primarily stay at the wicket for which you need a technique and application? sehwag cannot play an incoming delivery and often has a grand canyon between his bat and pad and dhoni on an ill fated day just seems to forget what he is doing. natural game is ok fellas but it should not be an excuse for non performance.

booing of sachin
by varun on Mar 25, 2006 04:35 PM

first n foremost plz tell me whether this is ur first article ever or u got any prior experience for this is the worst piece of opinion ever given by a person who writes editorials...
if u feel sachin shd retire, india lost the match because of dravids captaincy then in first case where were u all those 16 yrs when sachin was devastating bowlin attacks around the world with his battin n made warne have nightmares...32 is no age to retire...
where were u durin 2nd test when india won with 5 bowlers....
n bowlin first was i think atm decision based on the fact that india was playin 5 batsmen n the first day pitch was supposed to help quick bowlers n also england were short of a world class spinner so their spin wud not bother india that much on final day
finally wat ever happened congratulations to england tm for playin superb cricket n provin to b the better tm n drawin the series

is it a post match report?

Your article is factually redundant and verbally pompous. People who follow cricket are indeed aware of how we lost the 3rd test. I was hoping for a more logical insight into things that went wrong.

nobody in the world is so high to criticize the little master. If cricket is said to be a religion the god will be SACHIN.

This article does not serve any purpose and moreover it tries to justify the crowd booing the great Sachin. Agreed he is going through a form slump but then he is also making a comeback after a grave injury. Please be patient and if u cant then stop watching cricket in general and writing articles on it in particular.
Sachin was, is and will allways remain a gem...a kohinoor and if India are to wiin the world cup and come close to australia in test rankings we need Sachin. Please stop writing him off....if sachin should retire then i guess so shud u coz if sachins form with the bat is bad ur form with the pen is pathetic.

Sachin.....the whole of india needs u.....ur mere presence can make the opposition nervous. Trust ur abilities....I do and will always.

Save ur boos for later
by amit on Mar 25, 2006 12:38 PM

I wonder how many of the people who booed sachin have ever played gully cricket. These are people who come to see 4s and 6s and not cricket. For 16 years we shared the joy of his success and now we can not tolerate his failures. We made him god and when he didnot perform we crucified him.Cannot imagine Lara being booed in west indies or waugh or ponting in australia. And those who are justifying the boos- i have only one advice- save your boos for the future when both rahul and sachin will retire-when u will witness more 100s allout and perhaps against more weaker opposition-last truly great indian cricketer who was booed was Sunil-well even after 20 years of his retirement we have not found a good opener- doubt whether 20 years after Rahul's and Sachin's exit we would find 2 great middle order batsmen. We need 2 save our booing 4 then.

Those who booed Sachin should hang themselves
by ak on Mar 25, 2006 12:24 PM

Come on guys stop writing such a idiotic article. Every cricketer goes thru a rough phase. This does not mean you should bring the person down especially Sachin. He is a legend and will continue to be... You cannot take away the numerous records he has made and the kind of cricket he has played year and year again. Sachin will come back with a big bang. Indians should learn to respect good cricketers like Sachin and Ganguly. I still cannot believe the kind of treatment Kiran More and the BCCI is giving to Ganguly. It happens only in India I guess.
