Sachin-booers were right

Indians have to respect people who had once contributed in whatever the game be. However, they also have to cultivate the habit of honestly telling the past heroes that it was now time to leave room for others. Salute we should, but unsparingly we should show the door to those who do not perform inspite of umpteen opportunities. Tendulkar can be no exception. Singing a song of infalliablity, when form is missed repeatedly, is merely a show of foolishness. How long will we be guilty of such foolishness?

If Sachin Why Not Ganguly
by karthikeyan on Mar 25, 2006 11:14 AM

Inspite of terible failures for the past 11 test matches by our so called "The Little Master" what answer can our senior selector say for not giving a chance to our "The Successful Captain". If the selectors could give a chance for one who fails miserably time and again why not for ganguly who scored a ton against Zimbabwe and valueable thirties in two innings of a match against pakistan. Though it was just two thirties it was scored overseas against tough bowling while all our bat users failed.

The other rediculous remarks made by our senior selector is " The present Selection commitee will not go with Ganguly ". So he means to say that in his era he can place anybody who he thinks to be better for future . What is the crieteria for selection. Is it performance or our selectors will ?

Arvind Lavakare :
Everytime, he gets an opportunity to bring Tendulkar down, he starts writing about cricket. Its one of those mentalities where he wants to be different for the sake of it. God knows who reads his reports.

How true Mr Lavakare
by Chandu on Mar 25, 2006 01:51 AM

Very nice article and about time we laid bare the facts. Sachin has long been a confirmed choker. He still offers plenty to the ODIs but needs to play plenty of domestic cricket to prove his Test match fitness. Numerous articles claim him to be humble - Is it true really? Rarely have I heard him quote or sing the praises of other batsmen - contemporary or past. Contrast that to the magnanimity of Lara, Inzi, Ponting, Langer and Waugh in their writings. His silence on the Ganguly saga is revealing in its own way. He is not quite done yet - but it'd be nice if he were to promise a few big scores and reach milestones and actually deliver.

To boo a person when he behaves haughty or cunning and then fails is acceptable. To boo a cricketer who has been a role model in "behaviour" is simply unacceptable. Sachin is a human first and then a cricketer. Its absolutely wrong to boo a simple person like Sachin.
