Yes .he can get many more.No doubt he is a better bowler then Shane. One importtant point about him is that he has taken a lots of wickets against India and Pakistan(the best teams that can play spinners),where as shanne has a pathetic record against India and Pak. Murali can get turns out of any pitch of the world. So He can get many more then 1000
Probably YES. He is better than Warne with his special God-gifted elbow. Difference in wickets bagged by Murli and Warne is due to their fielding support. Australians are more effective in field in comparision with Asian Teams. Murali is only great bowler (with little support from Chaminda Vaas) of Sri Lanka and he can do it if everything goes normal.
May be Murali can achieve 1000 test wickets. I think it is becuase he plays a lot in the subcontinent and he is the strike bowler for Sri Lanka and theres hardly any other wicket taking bowler in Sri lanka. Now theres also Bangladesh & Zimbabwe waiting to increase his tally :), teams against whom he can easily collect a bagful of wickets. So its quite possible if he is injury free. I am sure he will not retire soon with all this money in the game. I hope he does not retire with people saying "why not now" instead of "why now". After all this I want to say that he is a good bowler.
Murali is undoubtedly the greatest spin bowler the world has ever seen. I am sure he would be able to achieve the target he has set of 1000 Test wickets. Shane Warne is indeed a great bowler but if you compare the record of both these bowlers, a majority of wickets claimed by Shane Warne have been against those countries who have been traditionally poor players of spin bowling. At the same time if you see Murali's record he has taken plenty of wickets against all Test Playing Nations in all sorts of conditions. So he is the best bowler currently and I wish him all the best to achieve his dream soon.
