Too many cooks spoiled the Broth....
by Swapnil Ramname on Sep 27, 2005 11:39 PM

After this controversy...i am seeing Mr Chappell's righs and responsibilities being curtailed down...and DADA(Sourav)as usual having support from Mr.Big DADA(Dalmiya) has won the race. I totally support Mr. Chappell for his sincerity, vision, discipline. and i also pity Harbhajan singh for his usual baseless comments....Thank U Bhajji. Lastly, I find Mr. Chappell irreplaceable and DADA should be sacked for the betterment of Indian Cricket.

Thats the Difference bewtween IHF & BCCI
by Swamy HM on Sep 27, 2005 11:15 PM

Just imagine the situation if this would have happened in India Hockey Federation (IHF).
Next day either coach will be there or captain.

I think IHF is faaaaaaar better than BCCI.

Stop Favoritism
by Akshar Patel on Sep 27, 2005 11:10 PM

I don't know when people will look and think beyond regionalism. Let me begin with this , in a recent survey by a famous magazine some questions were asked to people in 5 metros. One of the quetions was "Should Ganguly be removed from captaincy?" while people from 4 metros said 75% Yes . From Kolkata the response was only 20% Yes!
Here is my question why favoritism? why regionalism? Just because a cricketer happens to be from my region gives me no right to judge him with a regional bias. Even though it be my personal opinion.
Ganguly WAS a good cricketer , and though Dalmiya may have transformed Indian cricket ( For good? it's not known yet) does he holds the right to flout the rules and throw his weight around? Mr Pranav pls tell me that Sir Kapil Dev got us our only world cup, will you give him the right to push 5 players of his choice?
Shame on you Mr. S.C.Ganguly. A big shame. The best way of silencing the critics was with boundaries and sixers, and not with crying out in public.
And I request all people to look at this situation without any biases before making any comment.
Hope this will be taken positively.

by Bhosle Dinesh D on Sep 27, 2005 10:48 PM

I think chappell is doing is job & right so.He has given role to built 2007 world cup team & ganguly in any sort do not fit in that team because is body langauge is so lazy that it feels that he just wake up from bed directly came to field.Look at example sachin he quits from captaincy because it showinf=g on its performance.

Worst decision.
by srinivas on Sep 27, 2005 09:00 PM

Very respected Sirs,
I really feel shame of Indian Cricket Board over their solutions. I dont know why they were not removing ganguly from the captainship. Ganguly must be removed from the team itself. He is a bad element.
Please register this date in ur record.
Definitely, our INDIA wont win the World Cup in 2007.
Its true. What myself and others express here, is going to happen.
Thank You.

Suspend Jagmohan Dalmiya immideatly and indefinately....he's a plague that is growing in indian cricket....Indias former cricketers should stop being bozos and get actively involved in cricket-not commentary.

Good to read your article after a longggggggggg time
by Azhar on Sep 27, 2005 08:19 PM

It was refreshing to read your article. Thank you for the insight and your PS answered my questions. I am a big fan of Cricket and even a bigger fan of your writing. If I have to choose between your writing and the game, I will choose your writing. I know it is hard to write about Indian affairs by being in the US of A, but please keep enlightening us with your insights.

In my opinion, we need lot more writers like you to give us the fairness to any crisis. Also, we need people like you to be on the BCCI. Why don't you run for a post within BCCI?

Good luck with your new job with Rediff India Abroad. Since you are in the US, I look forward to meeting you some day, albeit I don't live in NY.
