ganguly is a black cart in the team
by S. RAMABALAN on Sep 28, 2005 12:59 PM

Ganguly is a very good politician. Never he is playing for the India. He plays for himself only. He is a black cart in the team.
So he must be out of the team. This will save our Indian team.
Both ganguly and dalmiya should be punished for this ugly issue.

Pundits, Fans and Videotapes (Here Emails)
by Abhishek Sancheti on Sep 28, 2005 11:43 AM

All things said and done about the recent controversy between Ganguly and Chapell, it has been unfortunate to see that nothing has been done by the BCCI to go to the genesis of the problem. It is now in the air that even John Wright had similar problem during the tenure.

All these things do not augur well for the Indian Cricket in days and years to come. And with the classic drama in the elections(?????) of the supreme body of indian cricket, it wont take rocket science to conclude that the dark clouds still shroud the indian cricket as a whole.

However it is heartening to see that still there are lakhs of fans and pundits who feel themselves capable, qualified and informed sufficiently well to give their solution to the problem.

Long live Indian Cricket (despite dalmiyas, pawars, chappels and gangulys)

Abhishek

Prem Panicker's a bore
by Keyser Soze on Sep 28, 2005 10:54 AM

This is yet another I-told-you-so article from Prem Panicker, a guy cocooned in the belief that he is a walking/ typing encyclopedia. OK Prem, we all know that you work in New York, you don't have to keep mentioning that in every damn article. I think you're a boring columnist, bathing your writings in sarcasm doesn't make you look intelligent in my eyes. Any average Indian cricket fan knows how the BCCI functions, knows that it has never been capable of making hard decisions, so what exactly is the point you're trying to make here? Just listing down what is common cricketing knowledge is something even I can do. Please do us a favor and go back to that sojourn you were in, in your fancy NYC office of course.

Never had the administrators the vision nor the passion of commitment for indian cricket
by A V S N PRASAD on Sep 28, 2005 09:12 AM

All the media and the ppl who were eagerly waiting for the verdict to be delivered on the ganguly and chappel spat all they got to see a big drama in which media and the ppl are made just mere foolish spectators to watch a very foolish melodrama that nearly ran for two weeks with out really getting the truth.all one could say is that BCCI is a divided body where the members doesnt like to loose the power that could be executed for their personal interests rather than to give their best for the cricket mad country.players of board members interest are given dozens of changes to prove and players who perform in the national cricket and does not have any backing in the board doesnt even get a chance and even if they get a chance they are made the scape goats why?.its simply not that we dont have talent.the selection members are not truthful.just think when small countries like srilanka can have a team that is as good of staying in the top three and a country like newzeland can beat india regularly. why can a country with a 1000 million population and is mad about cricket cant provide a best team of 15.its just to say that we are watching a fools drama unfold from selection to playing.

The six wise men will do nothing

We can do onething which we don't do - stop watching cricket. I felt very bad for Chapell - he is the man who told the truth and got punished heavily. I wish India would perform very bad in next matches. If someone says I am not patriotic, I agree I am not. BTW, National Indian Cricket team is not Team India. it's BCCI Cricket team - in short bunch of jokers who support Dalmia. Kick him out first. He is messing up with people.

What's wrong in promoting Dravid as captain? Does he not deserve much respect? Why Ganguly has to take credit if India wins? When did Ganguly last time won a test-mtach? Actually ask him?

The last three ODI centuries are agianst Kenya and other team. Shame on him........ It's like family business for them.

BCCI - Too much to handle
by Ashish on Sep 28, 2005 01:14 AM

When BCCI can not handle their own work, how would they think of Indian Cricket Team reaching out for new heights. Too much to ask for.

Question is really simple ? Can someone be allowed to be the leader forever beacuse they were done well in the past?

Its high time, really, to ask for survival of cricket in subcontinent. It takes one simple decision to do that. Remove Saurav from the pedestal and let current performance alone be the criteria for selection as team member and captain.

High time for Jagmohan to leave too. There are other capable persons in India who can meet & exceed what Jaggu could not do.
