why do we care so much for a coach whom we dont know yet
by Vijay on Sep 26, 2005 08:35 PM

This is really weird that a foreign guy comes in and says your captain is no good. Why did Wright not object Ganguly? Irrespective of wht the columnists think the fact remains Chappel took all the good will for granted. It wud be rude for anyone to come and say the captain is no good in 2 months time.

We are also forgetting the fact that Ganguly is a thorn in the Aussies flesh. They just dont like his dont care attitude toward the oh so gr8 Aussies. Maybe chappel is getting back him. And Ganguly taking off his shirt should be one of the proudest moment of Indian Cricket. Anybody who cant digest independent and proud India is worth a fig. People need to come out of the colonial mindset and especially the sycophantic buddhas. Gen X put India back on the world map and Gen X is proud of Ganguly. If Ganguly wants to kick Chappels posterior do it hard and right. We gave Kapil a ton of chances so why not Ganguly. At least we reached world cup finals. The other "gentleman" captains wud bow to their colonial masters for orders.

hey this is not Politics...and Ganguly is not a polititian....the more they are in papers the more they will lose...so Mr.Ganguly the next news in papers should be that u stepped down from captaincy.....BCCI should be responsible for the leaked mail and put some people under enquiry till truth comes out....

Ganguly must step down
by Abhijeet on Sep 26, 2005 08:24 PM

I totally agree with Mr. Dungarpur. Chapell certainly had some plans for the downgoing Indian cricket. But the dirty politics in BCCI is hurting those plans. Ganguly has lost the charm and respect. After serving as a captain of Indian cricket team he should be aware of dressing room code.

I also agree with Mr. Dungarpur's about his comments to media. I'm sure if he had not scored hundred he would not have disclosed chapell's remark against him to media.

Now its time for ganguly to go and make room for fresh blood.

My comments

Hi all,

I feel Ganguly is one of the best batman India ever had.But considering his current form he should realise his mistakes and try to concentrate on batting primarily and give up his captaincy which will relive some pressure on him.And he too can play a major role like Brain Lara doing for his team. Its good for him to be of the contravorsy and give up his captaincy decently with out any force.Best wishes for our cricket team.

Ganguly should be given the boot
by Siddharth on Sep 26, 2005 08:02 PM

Ganguly should be sacked as the captain. He no longer commands the respect of his team mates and the supporters of Indian cricket. Though i value his contribution in bringing the new era in Indian cricket, he has grown into a overbearing and high-handed dictator who is now concerned about self preservation. We should give Chappel a chance to prove his credentials. I am sure that weeding out non-performing elements (read Harbhajan, Yuvraj) would bring succour to the team. Under Dravid's & Chappel's leadership India might have a good chance to lift the 2007 World Cup.

Perhaphs Dungarpur is right
by Sukanta on Sep 26, 2005 07:29 PM

Dear Sir,

Perhaphs Mr. Dungarpur is right that Mr. Dalmiya might have leaked it to the press. Most us discussing the fact that Mr. Dalmiya is the main cricket politician who is ruining the Indian team. Mr. Dungarpur is an experienced person and knows in and out of Indian cricket. When we can feel the same, why not Mr. Dungarpur. If one study the behaviour of Ganguly, it is not clean from the begining of his cricket career and it got it's lowest level recently because of Mr. Dalmiya's support. If Indian Cricket is to improve and go high, Mr. Dalmiya has to be kept out of the interferance.

Thanking you
