Times up for Ganguly and co
by Rishi on Sep 26, 2005 09:29 PM

Its amazing how people can keep getting fooled by Ganguly who showed his character when he disclosed a confidential discussion to the media after scoring a useless century against an equally useless team. This alone is reason enough to haul him over the coals.Add to this the Email leak.Any sane person can look at both sides of the story and see who is wrong.Lets forget about stats for a while and look at recent actions of Chappel and Ganguly. Chappel had a frank and honest discussion with ganguly and aired his views to BCCI President in a confidential Email.Ganguly broke that news to the media and BCCI got that Email out. What were they thinking?- simple..arouse public emotion against Chappel and throw him out so that Ganguly and his cohorts can continue their reign.Chappel should quit as India does not deserve him .He is wasting his time in a society where nepotism, regionalism and corruption thrive at every step.I think we deserve to be where we are in sport-bottom rung.

Greg's comments
by Sadhab on Sep 26, 2005 09:19 PM

We are watching with regret that a foreigner like Greg is commenting on an Indian captain who made the Indian Cricket team "The TEAM INDIA' of today. Only under his leadership we could be boast of our cricket after Kapildev. He has nurtured many of the cricketers against all odds whom even Greg is praising today. A man like Ganguly deserves respect from his countrymen rather leg pulling. What Greg is doing is just breaking the unity in a happy joint family built up by Sourav. So Mr Chappel, if you think you cannot work with these worthless indians please quit and save our family from breaking before it is too late to be mentored.

Dalmiya leaked e-mail: Dungarpur
by Karim Hirani on Sep 26, 2005 09:13 PM

I think the whole lot of JOKERS (BCCI) should be kicked and let a new team do the job. These guys have a wrong impression in their heads that they are the only ONES knowing Cricket and they only can make good decissions. Now we all the Indians know that what type of decissions they have been taking. Ganguly is a sick person and he should be put to rest. He does not know how to go in dignity, so the better way is to kick him out from captaincy as well as from the team. And who-so-ever (the guys who have got hero honda thru ganguly) wants to support him let them all be with him in Calcutta (and do bike circus), but not in the INDIAN TEAM.

Time for Raj Singh to retire ?
by Samik on Sep 26, 2005 08:51 PM

I am no big supporter of Ganguly (and definitely not Dalmiya) but what credential does Raj have , to talk about ..er..anything ? This is the man who represents the sickness of Indian feudalistic society more than anybody else. What is his contribution to cricket ? Did he play a single test match ? Even domestic cricket ? If not, what gives him the extra-constitutional authority that he's been enjoying for the last 30 yrs ? This is the man who refused Sunil Gavaskar entry to a Mumbai club, insulted Kapil Dev and in fact, most Indian crieckter. When a good-for-nothing joker/feudal lord has the power to do so for so many years, does it tell you that there is something wrong with the system..something wrong with our country which lets these people enjoy power, and forces great cricketers to be subservient to them ? We always talk about the corruption and feudalistic structure of our society and spit venom agains the Lalu Yadavs, Sonia Gandhis, and L K Advanis..at least they have some credentials (good or bad) ..what about this man ??? May be its time for Ganguly to retire, but dont you think Raj Singh's retirement is past due ?

Chappel vs. Ganguly
by Jimmy Noronha on Sep 26, 2005 08:51 PM

Sir,

When I returned from abroad way back in 1987, it wa a pleasure to watch cricket and ODI in particular was refreshing with stars like Tendulkar, and then Dravid, and Ganguly.

However, the moment I see Ganguly coming to the crease, and I get a strange feeling that he won't last there long, his body language indicates that he is just a guest there and then to talk about his attitude on the field makes even me nervous with his fingers in his mouth quite now and then.

With no runs coming, and then if he is proved right that he wants now to hold on to his position by the method of divide and rule, why on earth should we cling on to him when he scores any runs, no player would be happy to be guided by a shaky skipper.

Let Ganguly give way to someone worthy to be in his place please.

Jimmy Noronha
