shame !! shame !! in the part of selectors and captain
by Niroop S.T. on Sep 25, 2005 10:15 AM

It's really shame in the part of Indian Cricket Board for protecting Ganguly in Indian team.Ganguly is now perfoming very poorly.Good regards for Chappell and my support is with the coaches like him who without fear tell the Board to quit Ganguly from the team.Ganguly is now no use to the Indian team as a Captain and as a player. And it's really shame, shame and shame carrying these types of burdens(Ganguly) in the team for a long time.He has a lot of weekness as a batsman.Even the low ranked team can easily out Ganguly, because everyone knows his(Ganguly) fear towards short pitch balls. At the present moment Ganguly can perform well only against a team doesn't know anything about cricket. So I'm a requesting the Board if they have common sense and if they are not greedy towards money, try to be professional and quit Ganguly from team for ever. And I'm also requesting the Board to remain Chappell as Indian Coach please let him to do his job.So my support is with Chappell.

Ganguly - Go home and relax
by Aamir on Sep 24, 2005 05:56 PM

Looking at the body language of Gamguly and someone like Sehwag it seems that they are least bothered about the outcome of the matches. Physically neither look like sportsmen. One bold decision by the BCCI to sack Ganguly can result in these next in like to think again about their attitude toward the game and the team.

childish behaviour

Captain sourav has done a great blunder by speaking
to the media about his personal discussion with his coach chappell. Off late ganguly is not at all playing well and his form and consistency is still
a moot point. His recent century against zimbavae
in 262 balls is not a good one. Scoring century against kenya, bangaladesh & zimba will not be
encourageble. He should score more runs against other
best team in the world. Just because he won many matches the selectors should not keep him very longer. Selection commiittee should select player
based on the current form not at the cost odf their
records. I do not understand why kaif was not selected for the test match. The man in form scored
very good score in the recent one day matches with his good fielding approach. I think it is high time
for ganguly to step down from team and he should give
chance for the youngster to show their performance
well for the team.

S stands for Selfish and not Sourav!!!
by Srikanth on Sep 19, 2005 03:45 PM

Dear Rediff,
I will be gald if you put this comment so that some people reading this would have fun which the cricketers do not give to their fans on the field but only outside it.
Let us rename some people's first names... Please do not take this personally ( by neither rediff nor by the players as any firstnames of the characters mentioned is purely coincidental and not predetermined!!!!!)
S for Selfish and not Sourav!(Soon people will use the name for scolding others during fights)
K for Kite (Patang !) and not Kaif!(He has some people determined to hold the thread inspite of his silly performances just before the series)
V for Vapour and not Virender!(You cannot see him longer at the grease these days)
A for Apple and not Ashish! (He needs to eat every day)
A for Arid and not Anil!(He needs reoiling and rest from cricket, how long can we reap from the same soil? It needs temporary rest)
I request those reading this to do manipulations and post it for people to enjoy atleast this about our cricket!!!

Ganguly steeped to new low. now needs to be sacked
by Melvin on Sep 19, 2005 03:03 PM

Ganguly needs to be sacked because it is obvious that he does not get it. He is a liability to the team at this point and this type of politics is not what a cricket crazy country deserves.

Go ahead Chappell !!!!!!!!!
by Umesh Gawande on Sep 19, 2005 02:27 PM

I think Chappel is doing the right thing. I agree to his views. In order to bring new talents, from World Cup 2007 point of view the non performing players should be stepped down. Ganguly comes first in this list. So he has to be stepped down as a captain.

I am not denying the fact that he is the best captain india ever had. But one has to be given apportunity depending on his current form not the previous achivements.

By resigning at this stage, Ganguly can say good bye in a more respectful way, than the selection commity stepping him down.

Chappel Saga
by Adnan on Sep 19, 2005 12:20 PM

I believe in what Chappel says. At last we have a brave person who criticised in the right way and gave a good judgement. I guess the BCCI ppl are crooks who just see cricket as source of income and not in the name of the country. They should really be paraded in an insulted manner in mumbai. They should be sent to school to learn what patrotism is..
Anyways Kudos to Chappel for teaching the Indians what is right and wrong..
