sorrow state of Team India
by Khalid Rauf on Sep 19, 2005 08:56 AM

This article shows the sorrow state of our pride TEAM INDIA .I personally feel Ganguly is the best person to lead our cricket team.He has transformed the cricketing team to greater heights.Alas-his personal form and lot of criticism of him has indeed brought his personal & his team moral down. The results are there to back this.
By having Greg Chappel at the helm of Indian cricket affairs at a very high price then coach ideas and words should be followed.I still hope Ganguly & Chappel row will end sooner for the betterment of our cricket team. And the captainship remains with Ganguly.

Let Greg have some power - else he will not succeed
by G on Sep 19, 2005 08:51 AM

Let us be honest we can not succeed if we appoint coach and do not support his decisions. Politics or whatso ever should not dictate performance.

Please let greg work , and he definitely needs free hand.

regards

Chappel/Ganguli
by Ramesh Chandra on Sep 19, 2005 08:45 AM

In fact I feel so sorry to club Greg Chappel's graceful ways with that of disgraceful ego of Saurav Ganguli. In fact it is not only cricket but name the game and it suffers from such serious ailments . And this is the main reason of a horrible sports performance of Indians. Please don't mind ,now is the turn of the talented tennis player to grasp the qualities of Indians . Let me only hope she remains above this and comes out only as a player . Indian sports/science/technology/politics and culture overall is carrying the bacterial infection inherent with Indians. What is happening with BJP/Congress?And for God's sake let us not talk about Lalu ji and the like. I have the highest regards for Greg Chappel as a player/as a human being and very very sincerely advise him to be away from the culture he is mooving with. He has not been trained in such things .And for that matter this is a field for the Indians and Indians alone. Anation of 110 crores and how many medals apart from hockey. And look at the performance in hockey too. Unthinkable and shameless. Pl. forgive me for the language I have used . Afterall, I am also an Indian.

Shame on Saurav
by Ritesh on Sep 19, 2005 07:00 AM

He is besmirching his legacy by his machiavelian ways .. To drop /Kaif /& shatter a young batsman's confidence just to score a point in his battle with Chappell was disgusting ...A bad fish will spoil the whole pond ..If India wants a turnaround from the rot they have get themselves in , then Saurav should be removed immediately & asked to work on his batting if he wants to retain his place in the side

Ganguly
by Jimmy Noronha on Sep 19, 2005 06:38 AM

Sir,

The real problem with Indian cricket is that some players do not want to work hard enough. There are enough to replace them and prop up the team, let the captain and his associates give way to better willing players please.

WELL DONE MR. CHAPPEL
by Ravi Dixit on Sep 19, 2005 05:48 AM

Hi

I always used to tell my wife once Chappel accepted the Indian coaching job that he wouldn't be there for long. He is the sort of guy who doesn't hesitate calling a spade just that! He is quite blunt too so it is not a surprise that he asked SG to quit but in my opinion if Chappel had more powers bestowed on him by the BCCI he would have sent SG and the likes of him packing. In no way he will make an exception and would rather quit the coaching job.

I also found the BCCI President's comment - "You don't leave your parents if they grow old" or something like that - very comical. The parents do handover responsibilities to their offsprngs don't they? Even Bollywood movies, including Devdas, show the old mother handing over "ghar ke chaabiyaan" to the bahu!

Regards

I have stopped trusting gossips of Rediff after seeing so many shrewed and biased reporting - which I would never encourage or belief to take as true. Pray for Rediff's Good Sense come back without bias.

Thanks with regards,
Partha

BCCI - Please Twist Ganguly's Tail.
by C.N. Shankar on Sep 19, 2005 04:53 AM

It seems that Ganguly can only ask Questions but can not stomach the Answers? If BCCI does not come out with the Right Approach it will end up wanting to do away with the Coach - Indian or Foreign, and Select 15 Coach cum Players. Each one will fend for himself or vent his feelings to the Media. More Mikes will come out to be 'showed' into these guys mouths to make them 'Vomit' their bitterness!

There was a time when the Players on Tour were forbidden to write columns or speak to the Media. Time has come to bring about more such Tyranical Controls.
