Why do edit ur columns a person whom i feel love to see Pakistan wins .. Have this editor saw India Vs Pakistan match when India won under Sourav's captaincy. How could a team play so good when Sourav is so ebarrassing for this editor in the recent past.
thanx mr lavakare. its people like u in the media who deserved to be given the boot rather than captains like ganguly. i guess it's the same old trick of following the band wagon. & u people are the ones like rats. who feast on the ship's provisions & ar ethe first to abandon it on the first signs of water seeping in.
If the columnist of this piece is so well versed in the game of cricket why does not he go and prove himself on the ground rather than some shameless bashing of someone who has led the country at many difficult times .
I believe Chappell is the first man to disclose the inability of Sourav Ganguly. He is the man who can get the team India out of dirty politics and nepotism. Why doesn't Sourav himself step down after receiving so much of critisism ? The entire world has come to know the fact about Sourav and about his inability to score. The biggest mistake Soarav has made is not working on his infirmities. He was severly critisized abt his leg side batting and also abt facing short pitched deliveries in the past and after doing so I just can't see him improving in both the aspects. He is just the same as he was in the past. How will he sustain if he cant work on his weaknesses ? Have a look at Shahid Afridi how he has improved his batting in past 2 years. Afridi wasn't the best player of the pull shots and usually was getting out playing short deliveries. If you see his recent batting, you come to realize that the man has worked hard on his batting. As Chappell said Soaurav is par below the standards placed by him. But I would say ,with this attitude,Ganguly is not even fit to play domestic matches.
First of all , a very biased, non-sensible article. It has developed into a fashion to criticise Ganguly.He is the only man to bring Indian cricket up from shambles,all the others have the credit of taking it to shambles. And i can assure you the next one will do the same. You should have seen the way Rahul dravid captains India,which is absolutely ridiculous and pedestrian. He sits quietly in the slips waiting for things to happen for him. Three reasons why Sourav should not be dropped. 1- Proven record , both in captaincy and batting. 2- We should not be stupid enough to risk a batsman like rahul dravid by putting on him the burden of captaincy. 3- No other candidate. If you argue that his record is just that"a record" the same thing can be said of Sachin Tendulkar. he is out of the team forever as i remember.His fitness is the worst,not getting younger and his abyssmal record in finals is there for everyone to talk about. So he is also just a "record man" . Plays for his centuries and not for the team. So if you want to drop ganguly,drop sachin too.Can you dare to do that? BTW,"the writer" Imagine you building a company by your own hands and you being thrown outofit.

Another thing i would like to know was Sourav a Maharaj during his earlier days too ,refusing to carry drinks as a 12th man??
Well we should go back to the times when Ganguly took over as captain. The state of team India was so bad, they didnt even know what was a team. It was because of him, India grouped again as a TEAM and started performing wonderfully. He bought in a killer instinct to the team. remember, out of his 10,000 runs, more than 7000 came in his position as an Opener and he was ready to go down for the team. Read it together with Sachin and his supporters craving for the opening slot. He placed Sehwag as our opener, supported youngsters like Yuvraj, Kaif and all of them like anything. India rose into no. 3 in the Test rankings, and from nowhere, got into the finals in the world cup. But the best thing he did for Indian cricket was his whirling of that T shirt in Lords. When Flintoff did the same in India, why nobody cared, is it because any foreigner can do any****ing thing in India, but we should not. Nobody spoke about discipine then. But the whole world was shocked when Ganguly did the same to retaliate. He is the modern day Mangal Pandey. Well, it is a pity that he doesnt have any body to support of the stature of Gawaskar and Ravi shastri, the all perfect Indian commentators.
Mr. Arvind, You had given a very good analysis of Sourav's antics, this fellow sholud have been sacked from indian team long ago, it seems it happens only when Dalmiya is out of BCCI first, If these two persons go out of indian Cricket, then i am sure that we will win World Cup-2007 hands down.
