Chappell vs Sourav
by Dipanjan Ray on Sep 27, 2005 03:26 PM

I dont know who is Mr.Lawakare is but I wonder how could Rediff allow such an unknowledgeable and ignorant person to write such malicious article on the most successful captain and undoubtedly one of the greatest left handed batsman cricket has ever had. Every player across the globe goes a phase in their career where they fail to perform to the very best of their abilities, and to remind you, even our little master Sachin is no exception to this and ideally he should be the first one now to call it a day. So, why is this hullaballo about Sourav's performance? A coach has his own position in the team and the captain has his own. There must always be a peaceful coordination between the two. Now first we can question the credibility of Greg Chappell as a coach. May be he was a great cricketer, (how great only the critics can say), but is he a great coach? He used to coach South Australia before (if I am not wrong) without much success and now he is coaching India and yet to see any good success. So, if the failure of the team holds the captain responsible for it, how will the team's success be credited to the coach only? Where lies the coach's actual efficiency here?

How many Indian batsmen could score century on a pedestrian wicket in Zimbabwe . It needs concentration to score century even if it is a batsman's paradise.
Further the greatest walls and SSs have been failing
in the last few matches consistently.
It is easy to criticise greats who are on decline but difficult for oneself to prove his/her greatness.
Let us be more logical and think positive.
Let us not forget the shrewdness of great cricketers of aborigini which may not be helpful for Team India.
Ganguly has been the greatest captain hence it requires tremendous amount of stupidity to write him off. regards
Ranjan

Indian cricket analysed
by Santanu Chaudhuri on Sep 26, 2005 11:13 PM

It is all about politics Arvind... you just jumped in this case because you got a chance to voice your long-held opinion regarding what you disliked about Ganguly without analyzing the situation. Chappel wants 15 slaves working for him. Even if we take the racial part out of it, he wants his job security above everything. He has a vision for Indian cricket team... guys, stop laughing... this guy is serious! How do you think Ganguly ranks as a slave... really lousy even at his best. He does not show up in time, he thinks talent is superior than hard work, he thinks... wait a second, he even thinks! That's a disqualification as being Chappel's slave right there! Chappel liked Viru... is that a surprise! I am not surprised at all. Viru is the modern day Bhimsen... he goes and destroys without thinking. Chappel would actually like Viru to be the captain. Yuvraj and Kaif learnt too much arrogance from Ganguly... he wants to stop this before Ganguly spoils the whole team and turn the slaves in 15 prince and masters forming a team. So, all the rediff readers, don't get emotionally attached to a turf battle. You're the pawn and they are simply trying to keep their jobs including Arvind L.

Sourav's now an embarrassment
by Arvind Lavakare on Sep 26, 2005 09:56 PM

Not Sourav - you and other media who are blaming Sourav are an embarassment to our people. Stock licking white guys - typical Indian mentality.

Look at your face in the mirror - don't spend more that Rs 5 to get one because you are not even worth that.

Your article reveals what background you come from and this is the kind of low class education you will give to your kids.

Please grow up.

Ganguly's going to be kicked out
by Jeevan on Sep 26, 2005 08:37 PM

A nation where there are no players to play even to the calibre of a first class cricket, you cant say that Indian team's performance were superb in Zimbabwe. Ganguly was slamming aganist Chappell on the feeling that he had done something extraordinary at Zimbabwe when he scored a century. His form is still down and if he feels that he's smart enough, let him show us his smartness aganst England, Aussies, Sri Lanka or African's. Next time if he's going to play with Kiwis, Shane bond is going to blast out his balls. So Mr Ganguly, it's better to stop singing when your voice is good. Lets hope Ganguly will act sensibly atleast when he resigns unlike his previous actions.
