I think, this is the right time for Sourav to step down as captain by own and concetrate on his batting just as little champ Sachin did it last time.
But it is unfortunate that the coach and the captain went in public and indulging each other.
It is better to tell Mr.Chapell to act as a professional by simply submitting the performances of each player to the board instead of talking wild with the players like Sourav.
Gangooli never has the ability to lead from the front. But, what makes the selectors decided his name ahead of Ajay Jadeja 5 years back.
Jadeja displayed his leadership qualities better than Azhar or Sourav in his short tenure as captain. But, Time played with him and stamped him as fixer.
I think whatever Saurav had done in past , very nice . But if we use the only scale to guage his ability to lead for now , is disgusting . Regarding team building for 2007 World Cup , we must see that only those senior players should carry there tenure who are fit , physically and mentally as well . So , keeping these conditions , we should sack Saurav , not only from captaincy but also from the Indian Team .
Many cricket fans like me, had been waiting for this day. It is shame & black day for the Indian Cricket. The dollar power, Dalmiya is responsible for all this. Saurabh had no place in the Indian Cricket from long, long ago. It is high time this, Mr Scooty, be thrown of the cricket ground. He is the most irriritating personality on the ground, India has ever produced. All his payment of Zimbaway trip should be forfeited..
Saurav is an embarrassment not only to the Indian team, but also to us. His indiscipline and dirty politics had caused enough damaged to the entire team. We need to flush him out as early as possible. Otherwise, we have no chance of reaching the quarter final in the World Cup. Wake up, BCCI. Enough is enough.
Dear author, Congratulations. Finally here is a man who can write truth and only truth. There have innumerable instances when Ganguly has shown severe partiallity, selfishness and dictatorship and there's no doubt he has become an absolute embarrassment for Indian Cricket.
Though whether something is going to change is a different thing cause therea are thousand and thousand of letters on the net asking for Dada's exclusion but mind you Jagmohan Dalmiya is still there!!!
Who the hell has told, he encourages youngsters. There are more obsolete cases victimised by him than the ones who were groomed. Why has he never tried Kaif as a bowler? Kaif has taken many wickets in U-19 world cup, bowls regularly for UP but even by mistake he has not given the ball to him. In one match he tried 9 bowlers, including Laxman but not Kaif, why? And forcing him to bat at no. 7 for five years, it was only now he was given the top slot and he proved he deserves that. He just got 5-6 tests in last five years and yet again he is out of the test team. For how long Ganguly'll dictate terms & include his "own man" and exclude the performers.
Now that Greg Chappel has come out in the open with his opinion that Sourav Ganguly is mentally & physically unfit as a captain, Sourav should do some hard thinking on taking the honourable exit & not wait for the BCCI to show him the door. You just have to recall cricketing greats like Hadlee,Imran,Steve Waugh,Viv Richards, etc who retired at the peak of their careers. It is common knoledge that Ganguly earns 5 to 10 crores PA given his position as the Indian Captian, which is why he is trying to stretch this "innings". It is upto the board to decide if this is in favour of Indian Cricket or not and whether Ganguly deserves a place as a player in the team or not !
Ganguly has been a success. His never-say-die attitude has been the reason. To me,that same attitude has morphed into arrogance. He has refused to admit his failure as a player and as a captain in recent times. The puerile manner in which he spoke after his century definitely is the last straw.Only a closer look at the reasons and his potential can ,however, decide whether this merits sacking.Dravid is a good cricketer. How good a captain remains to be seen
Sourav has crossed all limits of decency by washing his dirty linen and with his Machiavellian tendencies is ruining the moral and solidarity of the team. A little success against a "bachcha" team has literally gone into his head. He better watch out otherwise soon he may visiting the pitches as 12th man. No player is bigger than the game and the team.
