WHAT?
by Dheeban on Jan 06, 2005 03:28 AM

What right do you have to expect Tendulkar to pay your college fees? What is the point you are trying to make? Tendulkar had adopted 250 under-privileged kids taking care of all their needs from studies, food and sport kits. Do you know that? If some one is out of his mind and would do nothing other watch Tendulkar play and spoil his studies, naturally a father would be forced to scold his son like that. Don't take the literal meaning of what your father said, kid. Wake up!

Cricketer\'s donation
by Ramsundar Lakshminarayanan on Jan 06, 2005 12:32 AM

I don't understand the basis of the article at all. What makes the reporter think that our cricketers are not doing enough?

And in response to the article, there are so many people who have criticized our cricketers in their feedback.

There was something similar written by Varsha Bhosle on rediff after the Gujarat Earth quake. She basically wanted NRI's in the US skip a mortgage payment and donate that to the relief efforts. Although a fan of her articles, I thought that was her most dumbest opinion.

Will she take legal and financial responsibility for the credit history of those individuals?

Quality, always, I repeat, always weighs over quantity and time-line.

Our cricketers, just like us, are human beings. Just like myself and scores of others, they may not seek any publicity in this regard.

Have faith in them. I absolutely have.

We should have belief in our cricketers. Such positive energy will help them excel and help them serve the cause of the society when in need.

cheers

Vingeing
by Rooswald on Jan 05, 2005 03:13 AM

There you go once again vingeing. The media guys in India always vinge and crib and crib.... BTW, I am an Indian too.

Instead of writing something that could motivate/inspire the cricketers/cricket administrators to donate more, this column is criticising them... Shame on you! Do something useful.. Please don't create these ill-feelings during this sad time.

Undeserving Heroes

How did our Cricketers help is a natural question that many people ask ? The Australian Cricketers have gained lot of respect by being the first to giving up their match salary. They have proved that humanity doesn't have borders. Our Cricketers still seem to be shy of parting with anything on their own.

We stupidly loved these guys and spent countless hours listening to commentaries and watch their matches on TV. I guess they don't waste time watching TV as we fools do because if they did, it must have moved their heart watching the devastation.

We silently watched and even encouraged our Government giving out Flats to these guys our Tax Rupees (as if they were suffering without a place to stayusing) and Import Ferraris and Audis Tax Free. At the time of National crisis it is not wrong to expect something back. Atleast show that they care.

The Australian team has once again become champions, this time with their genorous act and once again I am left with the same feeling that very often you get after watching our team lose countless times.

May be Next time...

Are you jealous of cricketers ?!
by Kumar on Jan 04, 2005 09:05 PM

Most of the them don't have stable job
as a cricketers. At the age of 35 they find
out that they had spend all their youth in
developing their cricket skills and they
don't have any other skill to make money or
to make a living.

It is sad to see that this writer is doing
an emotional blackmail on these poor cricketers
when those Ambanis make million times more money
easily.
