Gangully Issue:debate in Loksabha
by Ashutosh on Dec 17, 2005 10:46 PM

Does our MP has no work than discussing these silly things why ganguly dropped from indian team?
There are so many issues like
1. Farmers are commiting suicide in maharashtra
2. load shedding in maharashtra
3. how to curb black money
4. illegal quarring in india
5. scarcity of drinking water etc
I think we indians have plenty of time to discuss silly things so that main issue gets backseat

Ganguly to be discussed in Parliament
by arun visvanathan on Dec 17, 2005 10:00 PM

Doesn't Parliament have anything better to do than discuss ther axing of Mr Ganguly from the cricket team. Under pressure we all revert to basics and underneath the facade of being INDIANS, it seems we are first Bengalis or Punjabis or Tamilians or whatever.

Shame on you Mr Chatterjee for wasting the time of Parliament and the taxpayers money on a discussion which is none of your business. Perthaps you will enact a law to state that henceforth, selection of the team will be the sole preoragative of parliament.

Indian Parliament taken hostage by Bengalis & Marxists
by Rahul on Dec 17, 2005 09:42 PM

This is utterly despicable. Some Chatterjee thinks it is the issue of national importance, that ganguly is dropped from team!!!!
Hello we still have not been able to provide clean water, food, sanitation, education to more than 60% population.
But our honorary parliament finds time to discuss ganguly's exit?
Bhagawan bachaye India ko!!!!

Why even make it a national issue.
Ganguly played well during his time, got all the money & accolades he deserved. now he is pathetic, attitude & approach wise, so he goes out. it is that simple. Atleast from this time stop putting individuals above team.

I am not surprised to see bangalis behaving badly, I think it is just communism talking, lets ignore it & get on with our lives.

Ganguly's sacking in should not be given time in Lok Sabha
by Nita Mathew on Dec 17, 2005 10:58 AM

I think Lok Sabha should not waste time on this trivial issue when there are more pressing needs of the country to be addressed, for example, the flood relief in TN or other issues of national importance. MP Mohan Singh should be ashamed of himself to bring this issue to Lok Sabha and waste the time of all the MPs and the nation. The Left Parting is toeing in line with the public sentiments and trying to gain some political mileage out of it. I have a Q for the Left front... Does the BCCI tell the Left Front what to do in selecting their candidates?

Ganguly.
by Das on Dec 17, 2005 10:54 AM

Our national parliament has time to discuss a particular name in the Indian cricket team. The Defence Minister wants it. The WB CM casts doubts on people's intelligence for droppinghim. Just because Bengalis have entered into all media and they have the knack of making their parochial issues big. To them even Subhash Ch Bose and Vivekananda would be Bengalis first and last and not the national figures they were.

LS to discuss Ganguly sacking
by skjadhav on Dec 17, 2005 10:52 AM

Looks like that our Parliamenters have no work to do.I wish all the MPs concentrate on the development work rather than the trivial issues like inclusion or non inclusion of players in the cricket team.If such things are getting discussed in parliament I am sure the Indian Republic would be a Banana Republic one day.

Why so hulla gulla on Ganguly's exclusion!!!!!!!
by Chitta Ranjan Sharma on Dec 17, 2005 10:45 AM

'The exclusion of Ganguly will be debated in Parliament', Ganguly's exclusion not timely.....
All above headlines(punches) in newspapers are a shock..to the morale of the Indian cricket team managemnt and Selection Committee.... Why is this point debatable in Parliament???? Is it only because there is a, to put it crudly, Bengali fervour to this issue??? Because all the parliamentarian coming from Bengal see it an erosion of the ever dominating Bengal tigers from Indian Cricket???? Oh please have a heart. Where were all these 'thinkers' of ethics when time and again Rahul Dravid was shown the captain's seat for those matches when Ganguly was not available( for all reasns known to him)and the moment Ganguly came back to the team, Rahul was shown the door and had to relax with Deputy Captain's tag, no matter how he performed as Captain in the previous game!!!!!!Where were all those saviours of Cricket at that many point of time?? Why was the reputation of Selection Committee, standing of that committee, very basic of that committee not questioned at that point of time??? Was it because they were busy taking pleasure over the point that with Ganguly in driver's seat all was okay!!!

How low our honorable speaker can get
by Rahul on Dec 17, 2005 10:39 AM

It is deplorable that such issues are discussed in the parliment. They already get just a few hours after all the boycots, walkouts and outher unholdy scenes they do in the parliment, to discuss matters of interest to the nation and to the welfare of the people.

I think this is taken up because the speaker is a bangali. it will only increase sectarian sentiments within the country.

DR KETKI
ganguly a loser
by DR KETKI on Dec 17, 2005 10:24 AM

ganguly must have beenm the most sucessful captain but its a history.it is not a state game its a national game.so we should look towards victory& goal.i think we should play with those playrs who will we our future for world cup.the most sucessful captain was kapil coz he brought the world cup but ganguly could never make it but then to kapil is a history.people who want to protest can do it but beating some one putalas with shoes is some thing insane & all those should be held behind the bars. if ganguly was mentally strong why he had to quit the captancy of ranjit match should vhave proved to the selectors & bounced back but he is a coward.i salute kiran more for what ever good he has done to cricket.thank god atleast there is no politics now.well done selectors
