Sourav in Parliament
by Raj on Dec 17, 2005 08:53 AM

Sourav is a politician and that's why he belongs in the parilament and there has to be a discussion on him. Now what locus standi has the Parliament on this? How much money did the CPI receive to ask questions on this? What is Sourav's record in the last test match? How did he make those 39/40 runs? How many times he was out before fianlly ebing out? How many balls he took to make the runs? Why one of his team mates met him after the news of dropping him? Did Sourav again practice politics in the team as player? If Team India victory was because of Sourav captanicy in the past, why not Rahul's victory because of his captaincy? Why is Sourav being hyped by bengali Media and news papers while the smae is not being done to excellent performers licke Sachin? Why Sourav takes off his T-shirt? Why Sourav cannot perform? Why Sourav has so much support from politicians always? Why was Sourav back in the team for the first 2 tests? Who put him in there? Finally, do younger players need to be kicked out because some old bloke who lackc courtesy and gentlemanship and who has benn penalized max. by circket officials, who has brought disrepute to the status of Captain need to be back?

LS Discussing
by Sandeep Shilawat on Dec 17, 2005 08:05 AM

It is such a shame that reservation bill does not get passed. Women reservation bill does not get passed and these sitting ducks plan to discuss why a player who is good for nothing now is dropped. Look what has happened when you have BENGAL in power.. You make the national issue out of a non issue.. You stop economic progress and bring down GDP by 1-1.5%. and YOU TALK ABOUT GANGULY.. who has not played since I am not sure when.... SHAME .. SHAME ... SHAME

How about the Bombay sorry MUMBAI Airport development?
by Numan on Dec 17, 2005 07:23 AM

Here you go Parlamentarians, that's a better issue to discuss. See if you can change the Mumbai International Airport from almost like a Railway station toilet to atleast half the standard and style as any airport in Singapore, Hongkong, Malaysia etc. After all you are the self proclaimed rising tiger in Asia right?

Ganguly Ousted - BAD .. discussion in LS - WORST
by anks on Dec 17, 2005 05:42 AM

If Ganguly is kept out because of politics in BCCI then discussing in LS is again politics invoked by LEFT and well supported by LS speaker .. Why the hell are MPs concerned about this instead of other more important topics for the nation? And what will be the outcome of such a discussion? If they can influence selection then Ganguly's place is secure for another 5-10 yrs because of left 'bengali' backing. All we the people of India want is seeing India win no matter who the players are.

by patcon on Dec 17, 2005 05:33 AM

Is the Lok Sabha done discussing all problems of our country including poverty, hunger, water scarcity, energy need, illiteracy, population, disease, crime, corruption, religious violence, casteism, that this important issue of a cricket player is being discussed right now. what a waste of public resources!!

Ganguly issue to be discussed at LS
by madhav on Dec 17, 2005 01:31 AM

This is royal waste of government time and money. BCCI does not come under govt control. It's like a Pvt Ltd Co, and they have all the rights to retain/fire their staff.

LS has better things to discuss and resolve. But we know from the recent scandal how and when an issue is reaised in LS.

It's all money.

As a player no would differ that Sourav took the job in worst times in indian cricket and delivered to his best, lifted ccricket from sinking deep.

But in past 2 years he was going from bad to worst he could pull on just becausehe had God father in place and now that is lost, he is out of team.

First of all he never had caliber to play a test match. Just like Dravid is unfit for ODI.

But it's all about money! and when it's all about money our elected pigs in LS do come at it roring.
