hi!
A batsmen who has given india a recognization in world cricket. whenever there is cricket discussion in any era, he will evolve. we should leave the decision of leaving cricket to him as he is the best judge. my personal perception to this matter is, he should play for india. i would love to see him back in action soon.

Wanted: The Tendulkar of the Old
by Vijay Gaba on Sep 25, 2004 08:27 AM

I agree with Sriram totally.
To see Tendulkar play the way he is playing nowadays is a total heartache, epsecially since the supporting cast has risen up to such an amazing level.
Really, i would like to see him return to his boyish arrogance and aggresiveness, one that made the greatest of bowlers eat humble pie...

think practically
by s r kelkar on Sep 25, 2004 08:15 AM

the author might have forgot the recent world cup
only because of sachin india reached the final.
remember the match against the pakistan.
how he crushed the best bowling attack,in past
is there any batsman who did like this?
it is true that his individual performance has come down a little bit but it is far better than other players.
what happened in last two series india played?

Wanted: Only Tendulkar
by Prabhat on Sep 25, 2004 07:07 AM  | Hide replies

First of all, let me tell you I am a HARDCORE Tendulkar fan. My only message to those who aren't is a solitary middle finger. Yes, I miss that old Tendulkar. I wish that he could be his old self again. But I have full faith that he will overcome the problems he is facing now and shine again.
After 10 years, when Tendulkar will retire, my first image of the man will be of a young man who opens the innings for India. It was his sheer genius, hard work and dedication that he established himself as an opener. He has groomed his bowling ability to send even "The King" to pavillion.
Now he is out of form and plagued with injury. Most of the bowlers have watched his each and every inning and practised for days to get him out. Things are not as easy as they were in the past.To be a critic is the easiest job in the world. Thats why a person who had scored the highest runs in the world cup 2003 is being criticised.
But, I believe in this man. He is not God. I believe
that this genius will define a new role for himself which will be more important for the team in the long run. I pray that he becomes successful in this new role.

Firstly yo've gotta go and learn your basic manners. How much ever a fan u are you need not proclaim it in the manner u did.
Consider this:
An old man of 37 years SMASHING a Young RAW Dennis Lillee At his Fastest(Australia Vs World XI, PERTH in the 1970's) to all parts of the park when all other batsmen were too scared to even face him.
Yes that was Sir Gary Sobers , 254 runs. That World XI included Gavaskar, and many of the best batsmen of that time.
That is GODLY stuff only possible by TRUE GENUIS. Bradman calls it best innings ever on Australian soil.
If you can imagine that, you will know that any thing else is mortal. So in that context this article is PERFECTLY FINE and states the Truth.
So please Keep your fingers to your self and learn some manners.

Jimble

what the>>>
by Sarang on Sep 25, 2004 05:22 AM

This is the first time that Sachin is out with a major injury. He has come of age and if poeple call it "out of form" , even Sachin can't help himself.
I would like to remind all of u abt Sachin's recent outrage over the media. He just said

" PEOPLE WHO DON'T KNOW ABT THE GAME SHOULD NOT BE TALKING ABOUT IT"
So>>> it's better u guys SHUT-UP and leave him alone .

Column on Tendulkar
by Saurabh on Sep 25, 2004 03:21 AM

The article is written on a very good note and it really digs out the incalculated vices of a superstar which we fail to isolate due to our blind faith or the reputation the star has created in our mind. Tendulkar is a great player I agree but the way he has been playing in the last 4-5 years has not added to the aura and respect he commanded before. Somehow I believe that he has gone inside a "shell" and is far far away from the form which he had to destroy all the bowling attacks of the world

Good one.
by Srik on Sep 25, 2004 02:43 AM

Quite clear and practical.
However, For last 10 years, Sachin batting have been analyzed by tons of software and technologies, every team today uses electronics to determine his weakness, and Sachin has been targeted more than Viv Richards by every international bowler team. It information is also shared.
Viv Richards had a great team around him, in case he gets out in the first ball, hey big Clive is going to come in and whack every ball to save the innings.
My man Sachin you know the deal. Sachin is watched by everyone!. Expectation levels are much higher than Viv Richards. Simply 1 billion eyes!

Viv is the greatest lethal entertainer during my life time, while Sachin is forced himself to be a responsible lethal cricketer, thats why he is the greatest cricketer to me in my life time.

Sachin is a team player
by Raj Chandra (Chicago) on Sep 25, 2004 01:34 AM

I agree and don't agree with lot of views that the writer had penned down.
What I see now and had seen Tendulkar is "HE IS A LEGEND and a Team Man!!!'. Though he scored tons of runs for India and doing many more feats that one could ever imagine he has to take lot of criticism from different areas. Every player has his own good and bad areas, Sachin is aware of it too. Lately he became slow or watchful or whatever you call, just because the team needs him that way. He can still go and throw his bat around like Shewag and Yuvraj for nothing. If he does something like that then comments will flourish from all over the places.. saying Sachin needs to be more mature. He is doing more than what he is supposed to be doing. I don't care even if he is not eligible to be addressed as "KING". Till this game of cricket lasts Sachin Tendulkar remains the same --- A LEGEND !!!

India want him badly
by niresh on Sep 25, 2004 12:35 AM

sachin is the legend,no one dare to compare sachin with himself, he is our god of cricket. Right now he need our help to pray god to fit him. India need his services atleast for next 4 years,so that india come to number one position. Out of four pillars sachin is three of cricket team, without him its just like fish without water. Sachin should not retire and those suggesting him to do so its their time to retire as their mind has stopped thinking. Sachin we are really missing you, you are our true hero come on dont give up, fight out these injuries we are with you...
