It is a matter of shame that India who bost of having one of the best batting line up have shown once that they are no better than kids.
So much was talked and written on Sachin and his scores of 8 and 2 show that he is in a bad patch and is not scoring in any version of the match off late.
V V S Laxman who is cosidered to be terror to the Australians has been failing in all the 3 tests played so far. Its time we drop (give rest) him.
If India continues its performance in this fation I suspect if people will show any interest in Cricket. Which is the most popular game here.
India should abandon this stupid game and focus its money and talent on other sports - soccer, hockey, field & track, aquatics etc etc.
Cricket is a stupid game rivalled only by baseball.
Consider this: In Australia, cricket is only a third rate game. Rugby and hockey are more popular there. The same for England. It is mind boggling to see 1.1 billion people crazy about a stupid game.
The public at large should just stop watching this stupid game, and allow it to die a natural death.
When we talk about best teams we should keep in mind their consistency which Indian lack miserably. If we say or claim this is side has the best batting lineup then we are fooling ourself. We go by the names and past record in subcontinent pitches where even McGrath also claims to score his first fifty of his career. My sincere advice to the cricket fans is to stop adoring these players because they dont deserve that one bit.Shame on you Indian team, if you have even a little thing called conscious, better retire from cricket and make way to others who are more hungry for runs and not for endorsement money from advertisements.Only God can save Indian cricket and no one. Well done Australia in showing India their 'Aukad'.
The final frontier had to give in sometime, but we all expected a bit more of a fight from the defenders. So much for all the hype. One can only wonder how a team that was so full of self belief and spunk just months back be so diffident, that too on our home turf...truly puzzling. This lack of consistancy has been the bane of Indian cricket throughout its history..we never looked anywhere close to challening the Australians right from the beginning of the season
and please, i hope all the media guys will finally give up the "world's greatest batting linup" tag once and for all. Please take a look at the way the Australians bat for once... time to do some serious soul searching, to come up with some new ideas to get this show back on the road..and yeah we could definitely use a wicket keeper who can actually keep wickets and a steady pair of openers...all we can hope for is that ganguly and co will salvage some pride, if there is any of that commodity left in the team, from the mumbaui test
Hey maan, It is high time we give attention to other forms of sport. When we take a contingent of over 300 people (150 sportsmen and 150 officials who represent the country) to the Olympics and they do not perform, that does not deserve article of similar length. When the Olympics is over no one rues over the lack of infrastructure in this country which may have helped creating such talents. But imagine these cricketers of today (they are not even represnting India but the BCCI), earning a meagre salary of 60Lakhs/annum + the endorsements. Do they deserve all the attention? Some plain thoughts are needed in revolutionizing our sporting traditions. Sudip
the time i m posting my message ,the final frontier for the aussies cricketer is about to cramble.after a gap of 23 yrs. finally world champion have made their biggest inrode on the cricket field, that is to beat india in india.question is how the indian team which just a year ago,had threatened the world beaters in their own den,has crumbled so easily.the much haunted batting lineup has once again failed to wihstand the pressure of some awesome quality bowling from the champion team.now who should be made scapegoat for this abysmal performance? a serious thing which i think needs to be addressed is the selection policy of the indian cricket team.i think there is some politics coming in the way of indian team selection.how come they are persisting with a wicketkeepeer, who match after match have fumbled behind the wicket.how many chances u want to give to him, there are players waiting in the wings.many may argue that he will learn quickly ,as he is a toddler, but let him learn the trick in the domestic matches, surely he cant be picked up for his batting abilities,or there is some secret in this thought.well the whole indian team is backing him(read the senior players)
These guys never learn, how many more matchres do they need till that magical match that will turn the form of the batsmen. How can an entire top order fail, and not be in form. Have you realised that teams of all other countries there is no case when the entire top order fail to bat or the bowlers fail to bowl. There are a couple who do not do well but the others make up for it. I dont mind India losing 4-0 but atleast lets put a fight, we have just resigned ourselves here. Im pretty sure that this is not a case where batsmen are still figuring a way out. Is more an issue that they do not want to apply more and want to bank on luck to help them out. Im sure that at the end of it all Ganguly/Dravid/Tendulkar will come out with the usual excuses, injuries, toss and other crap. How many crap excuses does the Indian fan have to swallow. One thing I am amazed at is that the press, the board and even the public still does not waver in its support to this team. Expert panels are set up in TV commentary boxes who try to shy away from calling a space a spade but come up with sorts of excuses for the Indian failure. John Wright cannot do anything more when the team just does not want to win
This is pretty crap jornalism i must say. What is this business of spitting in the collective eye? Are Indians so preoccupied about spitting, is there no other decent way to throw down the gauntlet rather than spit! Does not agur well for a journalist. One must show a bit of restraint and clarity in writing and if needed be to use more meaningful metaphors. In the end the journalist goes on to say 'they deserve not to win'...who India or the Aussies, its is not clear at all.
