Mr. Pai, Why do u time and again put so much faith in such miserable members of the indian team when you know that they shall never stand up or repeat any of the histories created by the then great Indian Cricketers. This lot is out there just to make money and have no self respect and pride in paying for thier country, especially the captain of the team who keeps on repeating his grave mistakes all the time.
So why not think of sacking the likes of Shewag, Laxman, Parthiv, Yuvraj and Ganguly to start with and get in new young blood that is waiting to go for the kill?
Yup Pai, You are right. Its all we fans who made this 'poor' indian team look 'strong'. They do have individual 'hidden' talents, which keeps pocking up time to time.. and made our selectors retain these ' talented' payers for years in hope of 'good knock'. Indian team guys, perform or step out for fresh blood, who surely will perform as 'good' as you if not bad :)
Mohd kaif not coming out to bat after lunch on day 3 of Chennai Test was the turning point of the Series.
It allowed the Aussies to wrap up the innings and rattle off the runs quickly and get back the momentum. If he would have batted and India would have finished with a lead of 175-200, Aussies would have been looking down the barrel and we would have closed them out on the day 4 itself.
So whether people like it or not, Kaif is the culprit!!
The way so called TEAM INDIA plays these days is real dis-heartening. More because when every players commit the same old mistakes. How come one should say that the TEAM INDIA has a good & strong batting line-up in the world when they dont even share good partnership??? The way the series is goind now its worth to see some tailenders bat... Hats off to them!! The biggies SHEHWAG, GANGULY, LAXMAN, SACHIN, DRAVID start something new now.. or give youngsters a chance to perform.....
Your article reflects the ground realities of this Indian team. I really hope that the selectors wake up from their slumber & drop the non performers like Yuvraj, Laxman & Parthiv to give chance to more talented & deserving players like Wasim Jaffer, Dinesh Karthik, Mohammad Kaif. Even seniors like Dravid & Ganguly need to be admonished for their series of consistent failures. Sourav Ganguly says that it is not easy to consistently perform well in all matches; but I regret to say that there has been no performance at all from this Indian team. Barring some individual performances from our bowlers & tail end batsmen (again bowlers); this team has put up a shameless, forgetful performance against the Aussies which has led them to the threshold of realising their 35 year old dream.
Ganguly should be sacked. He wants players who do not measure up evn to club cricket.Men like Yuvaraj,Parthiv,Agarkar and Akash Chopra should be sacked.Chopra is a strokeless wonder and Parthiv cannot collect a ball.Yuvaraj has no technique and Agarkar is a batsmen's delight. Why Sadagopan Ramesh is ignored is not clear. Is it because he is from Tamil Nadu?or Hemang Badani who is any day better than Yuvaraj. Why Nayan Mongia is in the wilderness in spite of being the best keeper around is a mystery.Where is Balaji? The Indian team is to be selected on merit and not because of the whims and fancies of the skipper who does not deserve a place in the team.God save India Cricket from Ganguly and the Selection Panel who go purely by the Regional considerations and not by sheer merit and form
Indian Team never have a thorough confidence in them. At times they are playing with lack of confidence and at times with over confidence. Moreover the Team is using most of their time to settle business affairs and also to look for new ads - From the Master Blaster, Mr. Consistent, Bengal Tiger to even a new comer - no difference in their attitude. There is nothing in a defeat, but a fall without even a defence is quite oweful. This is really a curse for India!
