Dravid needs to concentrate on batting. Get a specialist keeper. India needs to give him a break. India does not need 7 batsmen. Most of the time india has batted 7 batsmen, atleast 2 have not performed or never got a chance to bat. Then why bother keeping 7 batsmen in the team?
India needs to wake up from the fairy land and start PLAYING. Beating Pakistan is not beating the world. Think 10 times before you claim to be world's second best. Ganguly should think before making comments like "most of our losses in finals have come against the mighty Astralia". Does he think Indians are fools when it comes to play Australia? I think the comment degrades the team.
Oh by the way, who do I think got most out of this tournament? Pakistan! Yes, Mr Woolmer will be happy that he got to know the potential of Pakistan team early and he now knows exactly what to do with the team. On the other hand, India will have to go to square one and rethink their game plan. How about giving up Zaheer and bringing in Kumble. Comeon, the guy deserves better than sitting on the bench. Zaheer needs to take a lesson or two from Pathan...the next Akram. India also needs to realise the Sehwag is another Afridi. Do not make the same mistake Pakistan did. He is just a one match wonder out of 100.
Sir, It was a pathetic display by the Indian team in the Asia cup finals. They never looked like winning from the first ball itself. They crumbled like pack of cards under pessure. In my opinion except Sachin Tendulkar no other player is of international standard. Other players are only flash in the pan. Of late the contribution from some ofthe players like Mohamed Kaif, Sewag, Yuvraj, Balaji, Kumble, etc... is almost nil. It's high time the team needs relook with the inclusion of genuine all rounders like Mohinder Amarnath, Roger Binny, Kapll Dev to name a few. Oterwise it is difficult for India to win any international match.
Would someone tell the Indian team that to outscore 228 on a slow turning track ...one needs to score in singles. When will our team learn the art of taking singles ?
1.Our weakness:We(The captain,team Magt.,media) should never appraise any player beyond limit,that, he forgets his identity; like in the case of VVS Laxman.He plays ODI as test cricket.What happened to Hemang Badhani?, who atleast could have surely made more than 12 runs than Laxman.
2.We lack commitment:If any player plays one match better,then he is granted a place for atleast next 10 to 15 matches.This should be avoided.If any player is not in form, rest him for one season, instead of experimenting the same coin again and again ,but in vain.
3.It is disgraceful that, we a 100 crore population cannot produce 11 good players, out of which atleast 5 players are consistent in atleast one of the areas of batting, bowling or fielding.
4.If the players flop, then after the fall of 2nd wicket,the captain should send tail enders, who will disturb the bowlers length by their flamabount shots.Do not go by seniority of the players in orthodox way when we want the output.
5.Too much of money gained from commercial advertisement,publicity make the players divert from their professional game.
This is the best way for any team to learn how to loose...Congrats India "u've shown the world again"..keep up the good work... Sachin is the world's best batsman,,,but all for a loosing cause... I guess the team has forgotten dat it waz a 1 day n not a test match...and the first 15 overs of the Indian batting said it all....
Another defeat in final. Now Indian team made it as hapitual. Except Sachin and Pathan, nobody takes care about final including the Captain Ganguly. Except Sachin and Pathan, rest deserves some rest and some replacement has to be made in the Team. Rahul disinterested in keeping and he should be relieved from that job. Laxman is fit for Tests only. Gangulay should be removed from both captaincy and the Team. But as far as President Dalmiya's blessing bestowed on him, I don't forsee any change in the captaincy and losing finals. Non performer, atleast in the final, should be penalised then only the team can enhance its performance. Finaly, Mr. Jhon Write, what are you doing? Fire and get the work done, we are Indians and we accustomed to this practice.
This was perhaps the most unfit Indian team I have seen in recent years. Even after a rest of 2 months Laxman and Zaheer were not fit. Especially zaheer should not be choosen in the team and should be told to prove his fitness in domestic cricket for one season and Laxman his fielding is just too ordinary to be selected in one-dayers infact we should select players like Badani and Gavaskar who are great fielders. And less said about Sehwag is better it seems he still in a honeymoon mood after his marriage. His feets were simply not moving while batting and his fielding was below average. I cannot understand what Tendulkar was doing in 1st fifteen overs. He is said to be a best exponent of field restrictions and look what he did in 1st fifteen overs. If others batsmen were finding it difficult then he should have taken the responsibility and taken the bowlers apart when the ball was new. This shows that he just plays for himself, the scorecard would show that he made 74 but not how. Nehra and kumble are also both very lazy in fielding. And in the whole tournament Ganguly was batting as if he is playing in the testmatches. And what is the use of Parthiv Patel in one-dayers.
