indians are very disappointed with the performance of indian "so called" tigers.i never expect that indians were so easily lost to sri lanka.we want to be no 1 but we cannot win 10 finals from 12.ganguly should think about that.
why always indians fail in final?are they not able to tolerate the preesure of final.
it is time to concentrate on ur mistakes.not need to worry.work hard future will be ours

Indian team

Indian team disappointed their fans by losing to Sri Lanka in the final. It was surprising to see the much vaunted batting line-up failing to chase such an easy target. It is a pity that everyone else failed while Sachin batted brilliantly. I must admit that this is one time when his team mates let him down. Anyway, good luck for the forthcoming tri-nation series in Holland.

Ganguly should be sacked!!!!!!!
by Vinod on Aug 02, 2004 01:19 PM

The only way to save the Present India Team is to sack Ganguly who doesen't Possess a Leadership quality. and the next thing is to Provide COLLAR- LESS JERSEY FOR EACH PLAYER.

Drop them.
by Kaunain Shahidi on Aug 02, 2004 01:15 PM

The selectors must drop some non-performer so called top guns from the Indian team. It seems they take their position in the team for granted and do not try to win the matches for India.

Why Laxman in ODI team?
by keshav on Aug 02, 2004 01:14 PM

Its strange that LAxman brought into the team. And dropped a catch, gave 5-10 runs more while fielding and while batting not taken any responsiblity. Just wasted too many balls and the easilly got out. And also its surprising that YAvaraj struggle to rotate strike!!!!!!!!!

Usual stuff
by Ketan on Aug 02, 2004 12:57 PM

It was disgusting the way India played. India is by and far the most
inconsistent side in the world. Bangladesh are more consistent
though they lose each time. Its so unprofessional to be that
inconsistent for such an experienced side. Especially the middle order
was pathetic. India needs to put in professionalism in cricket like the
Aussies. Everyone is asighned a job and he does it for the Aussies.
The team should get absolute 'ZERO' money when they dont perform,
the same way as they get millions when they perform.

final match

The statistics are clear. Whereas Sachin scored 74 runs in 100 balls, the other 6 players could manage 50 runs in 138 balls. Shows there is only 1 class batsman in India. Times question of today is so fullish comparing Sachin with Irfan as an allrounder.

Sri Lanka Lifts Asia Cup
by RAJU AGARWAL on Aug 02, 2004 12:39 PM

Thogh pitch was a major determinant of the Asia cup final. The way India batted is a matter of shame. India had 5 wickets in hand till 40 overs even then they didn't believe in singles.India should learn from the innings played by Jaysurya in the penultimate game. Though Srilanka could not win that game but as long as Jaysurya was there Srilankan were looking very comfortable. Sachin shold learn from that innings . I'm unable to understand wheather he was playing for reducing the victory margin or for getting man of the series award. Though he scored 281 runs in the tournament with an average of 56.2 but none of his innings led India to victory

Yet again we saw India falter at the last hurdle!
This was shockingly the 10th time out of 13 under Ganguly that India failed to win in finals of a tournament!! But the biggest dissappointment of yesterday's match was the inability of top order batsmen to play aggresively. I strongly believe that inspite of Sehwag leaving early ONE of Sachin or Ganguly should have been aggresive. That would have got Sri Lankans to deploy spinners earlier and made them panic but in trying to stabilise Indians lost the steam. Even though Sachin played wonderfully this was hardly a match he or anyone would like to remember. If Zaheer at #9 could hit out of the ground and belt boundaries as well then one gets a feeling that the middle order was not trying hard enough.
Hope the Indians tighten up their belts to belt the Australians and Pakis in their next triangular!
