Respected Sir

Dear Sir,

What you have mentioned looks very heart-breaking and sad. We Indians have the greatest passion for this sport and when we read all this then it all looks like a marketing stunt by big sponsors and not a genuine game of cricket.

I donot know how but you should offer your services to the other boards like in Australia SA Newzealand and spread this art of true spin bowling around the world instead of requesting for money all the time from our organizations.

Readers shud know the plight of eash sports persons in India who have given their best to their country and in return they are getting a rwa deal.

My apologies and sympathies are with you sir.

Lets hope something good turns out for you after this article.

A big pat on the back for rediff folks who are doing their bit for the Indian Sportsmen and women.

br,

Deepak Cutinha
Bangalore, India.

I feel Mr Prasanna deserves far better for his contribution to Indian Cricket. The BCCI is busy with signing lucrative contracts and has forgotten about our national heroes.I feel Mr Prasanna deserves a benefit match. The BCCI should look into the matter and take all necessary steps to organise the benefit match.

Sincerely,
Karthik S.

I think this is a big shame for a cricket loving country. On one side you applaud the legendary charismas shown by the champions in the field for the country while on the other hand these heroes have to struggle even for living their lives. I think that the bcci should always look into this matters by paying respect to those who have brought not only glory to the game but also have made the country proud by helping it in achieving its dream.
If people like these are not even looked after but only blamed then i think that the passion shown by indians towards the game is a fake and they only want their heroes to perform and then not care about what happens to them afetr they have given 110% to the country.

I wonder thats why present day cricketers are all after money or scandals or match fixing. May be an inherent problem of insecurity as to who will look at them once they retire. Plus the smart guys at BCCI......No wonder India has no place in International sports arena...

Probably the indian fans and indian board have forgotten about his achievments. i saw his 6/24 in
chepauk against Bill Lawrie's team. We find Aus.
better cricketers and better human beings like
Steve Waugh.

Don't worry Prass God will come in some form or the
other and give you a helping hand

This is pathetic. You cannot treat a person of the calibre of Prasanna like this. What is the point in being the richest board when people like Prasanna have to plead for money and a deserving benefit match. Shame on the board.

bravo rediff
by Dr jayamohan on Sep 26, 2003 03:20 PM

I am a person who admired EAS Prasanna from my childhood.

It is pathetic to see his plight to be as described.

It is high time we Indians recognize true grace, quality and perfection and promote the best with it.

BCCI should come formward to see that our spinner of all time lives a decent life.

Congrats to rediff for making this fact public

what a shame we dont recognise nor value our treasures.Prasanna spoke straight ..with the ball or with the powers that be!! we go gaga over Warne and Murali, prasanna was in their league ,probably a notch higher!!
has KSCA/BCCI forgotten that he led karnataka to its first ranji/irani victories back to back? and this is the treatment the can think of?

what did he do with $35000 ????
by srinath on Sep 26, 2003 02:26 PM

Mr Prasanna ,

what did you do with the $ 35000 that you got in 1991 ? I guess it is decent amount of money to spend your living for the rest of your life since that time as well..

I know it sound a bit harsh but are there not many people ( old aged )in india who are struggling & need help.mr Prasanna is lucky that atleast he got some aid from CBFS in sharjah !! there are so many who don't get even that

Rgds,

Srinath
