its a sad state of affairs...who would have thought.
more than the bcci, its the current players who have to take the initiative...with 10 to 50 crores plus contracts for just advertising in thier kitty.
Sachin, Saurav, etc. wake up....

Tragic
by Alex on Sep 26, 2003 12:49 PM

The tragedies of the game being "managed" by wise men without an iota of concern for those who raised the most difficult of the arts of the game to the sublime.

O tempora! O mores!

I think Prasanna, Bedi, Chandra and Venkat were the finest spin quartet of their age. Out of which, Chandra was helped by the players, Bedi is well off and with his occasional rants about Indian cricket team, he has managed to keep himself in the limelight. Venkat has made quite a crossing by becoming an umpire. So even Prasanna is to be given a chance. It was he who has created the sheer respect for the Indian spin magic. And it's not his fault that he doesn't belong to the days when modelling assignments determine the success of the cricketer and not his contribution towards the game. At least SetMax should employ him as an expert. He's definitely better than the psuedo-experts like Charu Sharma and Mandira Bedi.

Very sad indeed
by Mahesh Khandeparker on Sep 26, 2003 12:29 PM

This is a shame to Indian cricket. I hope the BCCI spends some time to think about the people who have contributed to Indian cricket. It should all be done without asking.

Prasanna
by CricketFan on Sep 26, 2003 11:12 AM

I feel sorry for Prasanna. He is one of our pride spinners and India should be proud of him. Keeping politics aside, B'lore cricket club should do something to help him when other young cricketers are become millionare's. We should respect our senior cricket players.

I felt very bad on knowing this. I pity for Mr. Prasanna. It is the duty of the Government of Karnataka to do something for him.
