BCCI richest Board but poor humans
by Ronald on Sep 27, 2003 01:19 PM

it is sad to see one of the best off spinner in the world suffering like this when the bcci waste so much money on all the wrong reason and then justifying their expense, today they are where they are is because of the players they play and it earn it money from there and it is not a private organisation.so if it does help our yesteryear hero who is having a problem then they should offer him a job or some way he can earn his money

moral:dont kill they golden goose that is laying the egg for you (BCCI)

BCCI and cotrol bpard should take care of national heroes and show responsibility.
The decision can go in any direction, but at least steps should be taken

Shame on us !!
by Ravi C.R on Sep 27, 2003 11:31 AM

It stinks... how can we let a legend break up like this.. Prasanna was perhaps the best offspinner ,the
world has ever seen..that he hails from India and
Bangalore should have been a matter of pride..
Why can't the BCCI and the present cricketers who
are earning money by the crores come to his aid..

Are we so heartless.. can SM Krishna come to the aid
of the state's favourite son.. Kumble, dravid ,venky
and srinath, can they please come forward and take
the initiative..

We the cricket lovers also can start a small fund.
any likeminded people can contact me at ravicr@rediffmail.com,so that we can do something
meaningful and help such great players and even greater human beings..

GOD SAVE THE PAST CRICKETERS..

It is really shocking to read about Prasanna's plight. In my opinion he was the best spinner ever produced by India since he was never hurt being at and was sure to lure the batsman out with his subtle guile of bowling. Not only Prasanna but all cricketers should have that minimum to live throughout their life. They should be given benefit matches and also those little known cricketers having played for Ranji Trophy, Duleep Trophy or for our country in Tests or One Days should be given a healthy pension so that they can live with dignity.

The BCCI is a rich organisations and am sure they can easily afford to do above to make all cricketers having played for the country or their state organisations for several years with pension.

Golden Opportunity for ESPN & Star Sports
by C.N.Shankar on Sep 27, 2003 06:24 AM

BCCI is full of Politics. It may not even have some one to read all these 'messages'. Why not ESPN & Star Sports take this opportunity to help EAS Prasanna? It is not a bad idea for Rediff to initiate some move by which it could get help from its readers for Mr. Prasanna.

mohammed ali
the greatest off spinner of India
by mohammed ali on Sep 26, 2003 10:57 PM

I am very sad to see the past cricketers going through such bad times. Prasanna was the best spinner of the world. It was a treat to watch him bowl and I had the previlage of watching him many times both in tests and three day matches. The Board which is the richest sport body India should come forward and creat opportunities for such cricketers. Isn't it ironic that the Govt. of India waived off the Import duty to Sachin to get his sport car. Sachin is easily the richest sportsman of India does not hesitates to ask for waiving of the import duty and if Prasanna says he is broke the public feels bad.

If we want to help him little bit, how do we contact him? What is his email and postal address?

It is just that many people may want to help little bit, even if token - as a gratitude towards what pleasures he has brought to all of us.

Thanks,

Umesh.
