Good sign but . . .
by Kumar on Aug 18, 2003 01:17 PM

Dear Reader,
I'm not sure what Fiat is doing is right or wrong but dear Fiat! give a second thought.
We are 56yrs independent and still find people below the poverty line(though its a vague & undefined line)... Why can't the same money be given to unemployed as loan? after all govt. alone can't help the nation to come up.
What if Suchin brings that car to india??? is it in anyway helps our nation?
I'm not saying to stop gifting the players. I love to see all sports and like all players(not jus cricket players) but.... Its high time to think of other "MAJOR" problems and the ways to tackle...Please!
ThanQ.
Kumar.

speed emulation of fiat with ferrari
by abhay chitnis on Aug 16, 2003 04:07 PM

By paying the duty of sachin's ferrari, Fiat has automatically enhanced his speed as the name has come right across sachin and ferrai.

Poor Fiat - You chose the wrong guy as Brand Ambassador
by Ramesh on Aug 15, 2003 11:04 AM

Very happy to see fiat's top management decision
to seal the controversy, magnanimous approach.
They really dont have to pay this.. but still they
do it. what an irony, they asked for sachin's consent and its just an ok from him!

I pity you sachin, are you so mean, cant u
afford a crore to the government for an asset
that you are going to own!! Shame on you.

regarding Tendulkar Issue ( Ferrari )
by Rajat Rastogi on Aug 15, 2003 10:59 AM

My Message that why a person like tendulkar can not pay the duty . As he is a Very - very rich man.
He should offer the Govt. to pay the duty & this is
The govt. who can think of duty waiver as far as his
personality is concern.

Thanks & Regards.

Sachin and Ferrari

Sunil Gavasker may say any thing for australian cricketers about mud slinging on the field, but just compare one australian, Steve Waugh, who is spending his hard earned money. (hard earned means money earned in the field and not via other means i.e. selling toothpaste and soap and pepci etc.)for the poor little Indian children of Kolkata. Why is he doing this for Indians? are there no poor in Australia or any other nation in the world? Why Kolkata? or he wants to slap us (Mr. Gavasker listening?) on our face besides on the field by reminding us that our kids like Sachin requires help? .If accepting this money from a foreigner for the Indian kids does not hurt our national pride, then why should our national pride be hurt if a foreign company gifts a car to one 'poorest of poor' Indian. (worth 800 crore). knowing his trends I am sure till the end of this controvercy, he will maintain "dignified" silence, as he had done at the time of Azhar and gang episode.

The Immoral Millionaire

I have always felt that as a citizen and as a team mate Sachin inspires and aspires little for collective good. It is mostly enough for him if he fills his booty with runs and money.
That is the reason that he has not been able to inspire the Indian team to victories like Kapil did although the later had a less-talented team in his hand (and more talented opponents to face). Of course, fell victim to his own share of scandals. Even still, I would rate Kapil as a better team man and a Citizen than Sachin.
