Gilly, it seems, is very optimistic about making it big in India through IPL... big cash.. Perhaps, more than his annual salary with Cricket Australia (CA)... He is looking ahead with a plan.. Gilly cannot walk away from Cricket... he is just going after the money awaiting him in India... He will be a captain in one of the IPL team... take my words on that...

hahahaha......u made a joke i think......look at the last year performance n than suggest A PHYSIOLOGICAL AGE...not a CHRONOLOGICAL AGE.....sachin, laxman ,kumble will turn up younger than your favourite youths

n looking at PHYSIOLOGICAL AGE...i believ Dhoni is already suffering from OSTEOPOROSIS or what.....what a terrific contribution in this series so far

Friends it is pathatic that Sourav and Dravid will not be seen in the One day squad. Well the question is how much we can rely on Yuvi and Dhoni. So far as I have seen Dhoni and Yuvi it is clear that they are very good batsman and hard hitters. But they have limited capacity and their performance is examplery only praiseworthy against teams like Shrilankans, Bangladeshians and Pakistanis and some times against Indies. But they have always failed to excel against SA, Aus, England and NZ. Wat I mean to say is that the limited capacity of Yuvi and Dhoni can make them excel against the superpowers once in a blue moon but not always. But when we see the records of these icons we will have to appreciate the fact that they have failed seldom and have excelled on regular basis and have helped India in times of dire need. People may remember 6 sixes by Yuvi against Eng but can they forget 5 sixes on Yuvi. Well there are many things let alone performance that decide fate of an Indian player (not only cricket but in all the games) and these might not be fitting in Permutatiuon and combination of the same. Anyway Sachin u too are not safe

thn who will play.dhoni n yuvi ??? they didn evn manage to score double digit in entire series. juniors shuld learn whn sahin at age of 35 can score 153 n kumble at age of 37 scores 92 after coming at no 8.

TRAITOR???? howcome??? if contributing to the country's cause consistently for years n years is called TREACHORY.....then really...i pray GOD SEND MORE TRAITORS IN THE TEAM......WE BADLY NEED 11 OF THEM
Sachin , do you hear from Gilli. Now you will get SIR from the Queen and a big pile of cash from all corners, you will ask for tax exemption from Indian Govt to open a few more restaurants. Most selfish & greedy. It will be our fortune, if you don't enter politics to empty out Govt kitty.

Yes it is great lesson for all our senior players to call it quits in the height of their careers.I think we should learn this from the AUSSIES and also stop bragging like Sehwag ,Sreesanth and Harbhajan. We could not bowl out the Aussies even once in Adelaide and everybody was already talking about squaring the series. What a Joke?
RE:Learn
by abhijit sinha on Jan 27, 2008 10:29 AM
alas i fail to find anything selfish there.....if he makes a big one n india loses, that suggests incapacity of other players to fruitify his contribution,n not that he played for himself.....n if he keeps playing good cricket n milestones keep piling, that means CONSISTENCY n not greed......n if he gets titles n awards in return,it means APPRECIATION n not that he asked for one.....n if one turns out to b a FERRARI in GIFT..ahhhh i think no-one in this world will b keen to pay taxes for a gift.......n if some critics cant understand these simple things,it means POOR JUDGEMENT n not a better understanding of cricket......n if they dont wanna hear a logical explanation,it means ONLY GOD CAN HELP THEIR LOGIC

you just shut your mouth and go to hell!! adam is a great cricketer and will remain the best keeper the cricket world has ever produced, and that doesn't mean that the great Sachin has to retire. you all are just selfish (as many Indians are) for some others earning money and fame. remember sachin even got awards many time for being the most tax paid individual for the year. INDIA nad Cricket India got this name and fame only because of this person. Once Sachin retires Indian team is also going to suffer very badlylike some of the cricketing nations now after their greats retired. when Sachin calls it a day you'll regret for the same. I'm proud to be a Sachin fan because I am a true Indian.

LEARN U MUST D ART OF LOVE,LADY ROHINI,IRESPECT YR IDEAS BUT U MUST RESPECTING OTHERS FREEDOM TO TAKE DECISIONS.TR FREEDOM ENDS WHERE MY FREEDOM BEGINS. U R COMMENTING ON A LEGEND OF CRICKET, SACHIN, D TON DULKAR.I HAVE SEEN HIM PLAY AND SUNNY GAVASKAR TOO.I RATE SACHI HIGHER THAN SUNNY IN TERMS OD TALENT.NUMBER OF STROKES.GOD BLESS U ROHINI AND YR TRIBE.
He is a great player and will always be remembered for his wicket keeping skills and making runs at no 7 an avg of 50. Very special cricketer. All the best Gilly
Its no secret that even if he is not ready to resign, ACB will drop him for the next series.
I guess, a combintation of factors like non-performance, achieving highest no of dismissals by a wicketkeeper and the want to finish the career on his will must have prompted him to retire.
Atleat Aus cricket board has succeeded in bringing some sort of accountability on the part of players.
perhaps it is time for some of our cricketers to take a queue from Adam and think about their retirement as well. If a dip in form in one series is reason enough for him to take the decision, then the indian team will be without most of their current players within a year - because routinely they keep failing in one series or the other...

If the report published in Daily Telegraph is true, then some of our senior players must take a clue from Gilchrist and announce their retirement also.Gill has shown the way.So Gangs, Dravs etc etc retire gracefully and with honour now itself. Sukumar

get your spelling correct before writing.
Gilly is one of the fantastic cricketers Australia ever produced. So is Sachin, Dravid, Saurav and Laxman. It is entirely upto the player to decide whether one has reached his peak and should retire or not. So let them play and enjoy the game.
How people on this board are praising an australian batsman, and scolding their own hereos...
its rightly said "Grass is always greener on other side".
Dravid and Sachin are regarded much higher than gilly in international cricket, still gilly is getting all the praise and deserving players get all the harsh words..

agree GHAR KI MURGI DAAL BARABAR these silly critics...they hear commentaries...mug up a few dialogues n keep posting here
The sudden announcement of retirement by Adam Gilchrist is an extreme fear factor and feel of guilt of being bloted by an Australian media, in the event of Australia losing the Adelade test match to India making him responsible for the dropped catch off VVS Laxman in the ongoing fourth and final Test against India. The moment when Australian wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist decided "it was time" to bid adieu to his career. This shows the value of a TRUE cricketer in contrast to Indian crickets who forget the things the very next moment and keep on chipping with the team.
