Some people have low IQ and poor GK. These are called tribals in their land. Sachin is a person who appears on TIME magazine and most endorsed sports person in the Asian, Australian continents, Caribbean and the UK. Played for 23 years on screen for international cricket, not local. Lady has poor knowledge of the sports world.

Despite many games in India are not popular like cricket... example Tennis, F1 race, football, we still know the stars like Maria, Murray, Michael Schumacher, Pele, Beckham, etc. Maria asked really a dumb question.

IQ [referring to the score derived from one of several standardized tests designed to assess intelligence] is an entirely separate branch of psychology different from GK [General Knowledge meaning ‘culturally valued knowledge communicated by a range of non-specialist media, spread over nearly 20 domains of information fields]. A child may possess a high IQ but certainly lacks the information to make GK grade but years later he may acquire more GK with the same IQ he has. [However, current studies on impact of aging on ‘fluid’ and ‘crystallized’ intelligence do confirm changes in IQ].
frankly most villagers in india still dont know who sachin is...in a movie recently, a cricket fanatic in his first night was asked the question by his wife- who is the pic on the wall (it was sachin's)....the guy almost had a heart attack...seeing this the girl immediately replied...since i am busy into studies, I dont usually watch bollywood movies...

After having broken Pankaj Roy & Vinoo Mankad’s 52 year old opening-partnership record in Test Cricket in 2008, our own Virendar Sehwag did not know who Pankaj Roy was! For those who might ask the same question on this forum : Padam Shri Pankaj Roy (31 May 1928 – 4 February 2001) the right-handed opening batsman from Bengal is best known for the world record opening partnership of 413 runs, together with Vinoo Mankad against New Zealand at Chennai on January 11, 1956. Roy also holds the unenviable record of scoring 5 ducks [including a pair] in his 7 innings during England tour of 1952.
If you Do not Know is not Big Deal But when their is Any incident Happen as Earthquake or sumami. sharapoua is first player to donate from her own & not from charity play.so you should Be known like this and not only as player Sharapova is from Russia, and lives in the US. In both these countries, they only know Cricket as that little bug that makes irritating noise in the night. Most people in the US don't know the names of top players in Ice-Hockey, Lacrosse, or even Baseball. How many Indians know the name of Indian Hockey Captain? And Hockey is our national sport, for crying out loud!

There is no national sport in India for crying out loud! Baseball lacrosse ,ice hockey , basketball american football are all dominated by America , naturally when they are the ones who hold unilateral interest in those sports . Although sharapova is a Russian , one must appreciate her boldness to disregard Sachin at the same time scowl at her ignorance . Sachin is no xyz player of cricket . Cricket might be small in relation to football tennis rugby but it still is way bigger than those sports you mentioned

This is the reason why Indians are called 3rd world people. They don't respect their heros.
