All Congressmen are like Kalmadi only!
by VASUDEVAN V on Oct 15, 2010 03:14 PM

All Congressmen are like Kalmadi. Their political world starts with Sonia and ends with Rahul. Without paying hosanas to these two the Congressmen cannot survive. Sonia and Rahul enjoy it, though on the face of it they may show that they do not enjoy such fawning. It is a question of their survival and these gutless Congressmen have to pay their hosanas. If Congress even a modicum of decency they will not only sack Kalmadi immediately, but also Jaipal Reddy, Sheila Dikshit and M.S.Gill. This gang four virtually screwed up the games and all the bad press and international shame brought on us was because of this gang four. If a fair probe has to be conducted into the expenditure Rs.70,000 crore spent on the Commonwealth games, this gang of four must be sacked before the probe begins and a free hand given to the probing agency to come out with the truth. Thousands of crores of the tax payers money has been swindled in the name of Commonwealth, and many a politician from Congress and their henchmen have become wealthy in the bargain! Who will bell the cat?

a great relief for all. No terrorism inspite of so many threats. Let us hope the vigil continues even after the games and Delhites follow traffic rules in future too.

Whatever rest of India thinks or feels...
by Prem Viswanathan on Oct 15, 2010 03:10 PM

Indian public is foolishly and unabashedly selfish. For whatever Kalmadi has done, I am sure that the stupid public could still retain him as the MP of Pune. He has won this seat umpteen number of times in the past. There are hundreds of exampls before Kalmadi of most corrupt politicians even after proven guilty being elected by the people. Does anyone remember one Mr. Sukhram?

Its easy to write!

Mr Nadar,

It's easy to dissect one's speech! Yes, we had many hiccups and our own countrymen letting us down by commenting on our hygiene stds etc but at the end of it all, we did emerge successful. To clean 200 odd apartment blocks in 5 days is no small task. yes, all of it could ve been done earlier! Ifs and buts can occur everywhere! Why should one congratulate Australia when they showed absolutely no regard for our village?!! We'd rather congratulate the Jamaican who won the star performer!

One must understand that after all this thrashing which was good to an extent cannot just continue. As Indians, we put up a good show and that's what really matters!

What is wrong in calling a spade a spade? I dont understand your jingoism and misplaced patriotism. If Kalmadi is wrong, he ought to be punished.

What we have achieved is to put up a good show just "some how". That is simply not good enough to feel satisfied. The damage caused due to mass mismanagement until just before the games began is irrepairable.

The fact that 200 odd apartments were not clean just 5 days before the games is shameful. Corrective action taken to rectify gross inaction early on does not call for any praise!

Kalmadi does not deserve any sympathy whatsoever, however successful the actual games may have been!

Disgrace Kalmadi and his company.
by arjoo indians on Oct 15, 2010 03:07 PM  | Hide replies

The mountainous embezzlements of taxpayers money and shameless faces of organising committee and its head Mr. Kalmadi, have proved that they were the most inept clan of India. Now these people congratulating themselves for luckily successful event with making speeches like election speech, mentioning all his party and colleagues names in international event like CWG. Had the Indian athletes were not succeeded, the GWG would had proved the gigantic failure of free India. The athletes saved India and Indian pride, otherwise, the Kalmadies were very much ready to sink the pride of India into the Indian Oceans by finding the occasions to pocketing the money shamelessly and defiantly without paying any attention to other things. Just before of event PM had said "let the event be complete successfully at this moment." Now once the event have completed successfully, all the people responsible for the financial mess and disgracing India by its mismanagement be tried and get the India Pride restored. Good Article!!
by Prem G on Oct 15, 2010 03:06 PM  | Hide replies

A good article. Well..as an Indian i am sceptical if things are gonna change. A sports person or a sports organiser will never get to the top of any association unless n until he has an ASSOCIATION with the politicians!!!

It was painful to note that the Gold medal winners in women's Badminton were not even congratulated. Most of the IOA members were more interested in pleasing their neta's rather than accolding the athelet's who have made this nation of rich heritage proud.

If this CWG success is an indication of what India can do, the Indian politicians will sure be happy to know how much they can make more with an Olympics... Im sure a lot of them are already calcualting...What a pity.

Many a times we wonder if this kind of monumental effort and money could have been well spent on our OWN PEOPLE rather than please the world for 2 weeks. For eg..this money could have been spent of linking the rivers, thus saving a lot of lives and giving life to many in the drought affected areas. Moreover the crores of money spent on rehabilitation (supposed to have) of the flood hit areas could have been better utilised, not to mention the rescue efforts, trouble & the cost of the same.

It is a Nation's pride & prestige when such events happen, not of the politicians & the swindlers. Its time to stop singing praises of politi.

When is this going to change? When will the sportsmen of today and yester era get their due? When are these po
