Dude we have Merecdez Brand Buses running as mode of transport in metro's in south. Each of them cost a crore. Similiarly we have beautiful volvo fleets in most of the towns, and that costs about 80 lakhs again. Do you think India is still poor. Its poor because of its greedy minds.

1 tenth nahi Bhai, there were lots of things which had to be in place. After all its not easy to hide the corruption & malpractices of the past 50 years without spending it now and rectifying the error. Else, otherwise all of them would have been standing naked who have been eating into the funds allocated for development for the past 50 years.

we never enjoy
by Neha George on Oct 05, 2010 12:05 PM  | Hide replies

We Indians love loopholes and can never enjoy even success. Some Marxist will be there to cry over the money. India yes has many contradictions, but we are success full as a nation which many of our neighbors cannot say. Even poverty will vanish. So lets enjoy our past and present together. This chick needs counseling in happiness management

Simply it is a matter of improper distribution of income, nothing else. On the record it is fact that 20% of people hides the money of 80% people. This can happen in India becoz of our Mentality is for Chalta Hai Bhai type or Jugadu type. Our Memory is too is too short to remember lessons.

Similarly development projects we have IT parks on our name in these so called developed nations to speak for itself. Similarly, we own brands like JLR in UK. Development is already known to all. But that's the India which needs growth, but sadly no one looks at it with even minimum sympathy. While it feeds us without asking for anything at all. Still its beautiful, much beautiful than our dirty minds also, who seek happiness and satisfaction in negative publicity. And we love to do it holding a cigarette and a cup of the same chai in our hands.

India failed in Image makeover oppertunity
by Amitabh Verma on Oct 05, 2010 11:53 AM  | Hide replies

In fact Indian failed in image makeover opertunity in front of whole world.

India was promoted like a village mela. India is in reality a fast developing country which was nowhere reflected in opening ceramony. Rather India was promoted as a backward / under developed country. If India can spend 70000 crores who can say India is under developped. Why to promote it as under developed country

It was not the Under developed India that was promoted. It was the real India that was promoted which feeds under developed minds like you and me. And that 70000 it was not spend on just this event, it was spent on complete event preparation. Lets have an account of that, would welcome our writer if she could get those numbers intact for us.

I think this can be a right approach. The writer should try to get a statement of account for the entire 70000 crores. Then the facts can be better debated

Nobody woke up untill media brought all this corruption in front open. In reality now India' real culture is hidden below scams, frauds & dirty politics. Kalmadi & co is the latest example who did not think twice before putting India's image at stake

THE WRITER NEEDS TO HAVE SOME RESPECT FOR INDIAN CULTURE...
by vidhi gupta on Oct 05, 2010 11:53 AM

This article is highly derogatory to Indian culture and civilization....ma'am seems like u r criticizing just for the sake of it! what makes us stand above others in the world is our rich cultural diversity which has been showcased in an outstanding manner in the opening ceremony! only articles like these turn down the respect that non-INDIANs show! u r talking abt the international scene which has already been proved by India's achievments at the interntional level...be it in scientific or business developments...that need not be proved by showcasing missiles or BPO set ups at the opening ceremony!!! we needed to project what we r...where our heart it..yes...India is a land of festivals...colours..dances...diversities and we r proud of it! yes...we put on mehndi on auspicious occasions...n dont forget...yoga is more famous than any other fitness regime in the world...its fast catching trend cannot be denied! even educated people still...follow the nimbu mirchi thing...its bcoz our culture is sacred for us...n we love the small little ceremonies that we celebrate with each special event!! the shah rukh khan style opening ceremony ...as u called it...is certainly the choice of the masses..!! we need to project what we r & not what the world wants to see us as! we dont want to be a part of the rat race..perhaps ur spectrum of thinking is not wide enough to see the larger picture or perhaps u dont take pride in being an Indian!this article is certainly shameful!!

Quite true I think she meant the jeans clad butt line exposed chicks who smoke sitting late night in the call centers. She forgot that apart from this, its the beautiful colorful rural India which feeds her mouth and keeps her farting over such articles.
