The CWG-2010 finally opens...though not as spectacularly as hoped for !!! The media has been going ga ga over it though (after TRPs do matter !). The Swaagatam show including Hariharan's singing was impressive, as were the traditional song-dance shows which truly showcased Indian culture. Have not seen A.R. Rehman's theme song & show, unless it's coming up later. The song per se is hardly inspiring, and will be quickly forgotten. Seems Rehman is surrounded by too many 'yes-men' to advise him correctly. Let's hope the Indian contingent does well in the Games and gets to the 100 medal mark it hopes for. Best wishes to all our sportsmen at the Games !!
what the hell how can organizer can forget the past real olympic legend like usha.this is not first time they continuously embarrassing usha.another CWG SHAME sure.

10 crore money were wasted for bollywood stars in Melbourne 2006 final performance They ask huge money already 70,000 crores has spent whether we need more?thats organizer thinking

10 Crores is small amoutnt when 70,000 has been spent. In any case there was no need to hire those super stars and other less expensive performers could have been used.

It is only logical that a azzhole who chooses a name like Azzrooddin will make comments that come from the azzhole !!
It's high time India alienates itself from the archaic and irrelevant CW group of nations. After all it's just an "ex-slaves club" of Britain. While we embraced the Non-Alignment Movement (known as NAM) during the erstwhile USSR-USA cold war, we somehow never thought of distancing ourselves from this CW group of nations, particularly as we don't recognize the British Monarch as our Head of State. If India truly wants to be counted among the superpowers of the world, it has to create and foster it's independent identity internationally. India should learn to COMMAND respect and power (like China) instead of pleading for it (like we continue to do for the UNSC seat). Unless we move away and move on from such irrelevant entitites, we will remain a Third World country.

Indians are no longer slaves of British. They are slaves of Nehru family.

I absolutely agree with you.We need to break away from these colonial institutions. Also Britain and the BBC always looks to highlight only the loopholes and the negative things about the country. Of course, we in India also add grist to their mills by our conduct.

I have seen the opening ceremony till now. Sorry to say not that impressive. The mehendi act was impressive but the others were bit of a disappointment. I do not know what the news channels are praising so much

kalmadi got booed a lot when he was about to give his speech! its a little too much to do that! now i am not supportin him! but he did do something! some reports say that when he was sidelined about 85% of the job was done! tell me one single minister who has promised and done 60% of what he promised? laloo banerjee have been promisin world class stations for the last decade or so! what % of promise have they done!

Pls do not support or justify such acts. The allegations are not only about failing to meet repeated deadlines, but also about mass scale of corruption, worth crores of rupees. There are lots and lots of people in india, who live without having the basic amenities. They don't have any single penny to spend and their children are getting starved. In anyways we look at it, he is guilty and that too big time.

tell me! which scheme or which initiative taken by the government has stayed clear of corruption mass? a big zero!
Re: hmm

Am not supporting that, only bcoz its not the occassion for it, not bcoz i feel that he did something for the nation. Bcoz even after spending, Rs 70000 crore, India got embarrassed in the eye of the world. Anyone can build stadiums and provide infrastructure if they have the money and the full govt machinery for support. It is clearly evident that there has been mass corruption. We cannot accept it since two thirds of indians are living under poverty. He should be properly punished. He has brought disrepute to the nation

dude ! mass corruption is only in cwg? tell me just one single thing in india which didnt involve mass corruption? spectrum scam farmers loan scam foder scam! we are a nation of scams! cwg is just one amongst them!. india got embarrassed! sure! it was not done properly! ther was a mess! still can you show me a better mess than the indian railways! the railway guyz have been tellin that they will change just 4 stations into international thing! how much of it did work?
