CWG A SUCCESS!!
by Chandanita Pathak on Oct 03, 2010 09:34 PM

Indeed, the opening ceremony is a success story,...who would believe that some 10 - 13 days back CWG was an eyesore of international repute. I still remember the BBC people describing the games village as shoddy, filthy and totally uninhabitable by humans....raising doubts on India's ability to carry out a project of such massive dimension, but today watching the opening ceremony all seems to be too good, all doubts put to rest .....hope this continues throughout the next ten days and India turns into a cynosure for the world...Yess! we can.

I only love all Indian Girls. & that's what the Commonwealth is here in India for, too. Sad that they have been challenged by Phillipine Girls who're here specially.....

We Indians must be proud of this event despite the odities involved.Let us be proud of our country's achievement. We may have a million problems, hatred among many things and false ego towards may things / people.
Be Indian First to applaud the event of people of biggest democracy.

Thats the biggest problem with us that we start feeling proud so easily n so early. Even well before the world cud utter even a word, we start praise ourself. Thats our biggest weakness. We must realize first. Let us just do gud work n let others praise us.

Commonwealth a symobo of imperialism
by Saravanan Subramanian on Oct 03, 2010 09:25 PM

I started to hate Commonwealth games and commonwealth, after realizing the importance given to British queen. Unlike Canada and Australia, I believe, Indian constitution doesn't recognize British Queen as our Queen.
The speeches appeared to me like we still recognize Queen - which, if we do, is a shame.

Good for all Indians. Pls use your valuable time for some other constructive cause & don't waste it on a spent cause like CWG. There's no need to go ga-ga over anything as CWG is just another desperate marketing strategy by desperado kangress. If anybody has to gain from this venture, it's the kangress & it's chamcha lobby alone, be it monetarily or politically. For us Indians, we're the perennial losers.

You could have tried BBC One/Two stream if in UK. I don't think they allow it in any other country.

India can finish in top 3
by Sports Lover on Oct 03, 2010 09:24 PM  | Hide replies

In 2006 India won 22 gold medals and was only 4 gold medals behind Canada (26) and 14 behind England (36). Australia was far ahead with 84 golds. So India can perhaps finish 2nd or 3rd this time being the host nation and because our athletes have improved drastically in last 4 years.

CWG
by Manas Sen on Oct 03, 2010 09:20 PM

I wish the CWG a grand success. It will show case to the world our organising ability and the first time visitors will get to see our beautiful country and its cultural heritage. We should next aim for the Olympic Games, may be in 20 - 25 years down the line. That will be the finest occasion to showcase to the entire world our standing as a peace loving democratic yet diverse society.
