Kalmadi knows he is guilty
by Rajan S on Oct 03, 2010 09:18 PM  | Hide replies

Mr Kalmadi was delivering his speech, a short while ago. I think his voice was stuttering in between. It could be bcoz he is feeling guilty. He is not comfortable facing the public

It's because he gave a solid mouth-service to the Visiting Commonwealth Officials for desperately turning their Nays to Ayes.

Good luck to all the members of the Indian contingent
by Rajan S on Oct 03, 2010 09:07 PM  | Hide replies

Indian contingent led by Bhindra , made their way in to the stadium, a short while ago

I feel pitty for them, because though we have spent Rs 70,000 crore for the games, the infrastructure and the facilities, they get is pathetic. And though we finished 4th in the melbourne and london CWG , the beijing olympics which came later in 2008 saw indian winning only one gold and 2 bronze medals, i think.
SO that means the standards are really different.

When China, America, Russia etc are missing competition is not going to be that tough. This time India will try to finish in top 3.

Host nations normally do better anyway.

Topping the medal tally is a little far fetched. Bcoz australia and england are far ahead of us in the field of sports. I think getting in to the top 3 in itself will be a success

yes that is why I said top 3. They could finish 2nd or 3rd ;-) Australia are almost impossible to beat.

Why Indian Govt. Invest Rs. 70,000 Crs in CWG ?
by itz Scorpion on Oct 03, 2010 08:53 PM  | Hide replies

I think Indian Govt. is fooling poor in this country. Bcuz presently in India more poor people are living under salary Rs. 3,000 per month with no other facilities. Why not invest this Rs. 70,000 Crs project in given some facilities to poor people in India. like free hospitals, pension, donation, Loans, Jobs etc

Even If the govt. distributes Ten lacs rupees to a single family (say of Six Persons) the will be 11 Lac millionaires in India overnite.
Then add to this the 10 Lac crores in swiss bank, another One crore families will be millionaires. Then India will truely be called a land of Millionaires.

70000 Crore is about half of Indian General anual budget. It is ab out Rs 1000 per capita. Most of the amount has gone against development of infra-structure. Therefore, dont envy the amount. Corruption is another issue.

First of all, am not closely watching it. I just hoped for a good opening ceremony, so that we can atleast restore some lost pride, bcoz of the ineffective administration by the organising committee
