THIS IS AN AVERAGE TEAM
by rakesh pb on Mar 05, 2010 04:49 PM  | Hide replies

IN NO COUNTRY PEOPLE FOLLOW HOCKEY AS FOOT BALL AND CRICKET. WHAT THIS INDIAN TEAM WANT? ONLY MONEY? AND NO PERFORMANCE WITH HUGE CROWD SUPPORT! TAKE UNDER 18 TEAM TO PLAY IN MAJOR MATCHES..THEY CAN GET EXPERIENCE.

Big losers
by venkatapaty swami on Mar 05, 2010 04:45 PM  | Hide replies

I hope this team loses and loses big in all the upcoming matches..What we need now is a clean up. These players have got too political and they can never be trusted to play to their hearts' content ever again when they are wearing India colours...Its time for a shuddikaran...They should lose all their matches and we should bring in a new crop of players who can believe in themselves...not these losers who cannot run the 100 yard pitch without huffing and puffing....We need to weed these players out..thats a simple solution.

so we have experts not only in cricket , giving their expertise . this is the best lot what we have , & what they have supports like us , who need only success . its time to mature , first be positive , support and then expect. our role is to support not to whoooooo

Like Previous Hockey world Cup we continue to stand at bottom rank. Even foreign coach, Good stadium & lot of money can't help these stupid players to reach at top 5. They don't performance, but they need pay similiar to cricket player.

trying hard but without any directions. there is NO defence worth mentioning, silly mistakes are made throughout the game. there is no concerned effort to reduce the mistakes and above all we wasted too many chances..It will be a miracle even if draw against the european champions..

what about players from other sports in india. even they have their own problems. they dnt bark like these stupid guys. they should be given raw meat to eat. only then they will play aggressively. shame that these players are playing for india. did u watch the last two matches.. shitt.. they were playing as if its a local tournament. these guys were playing in idia that too WC.. shame really .. thats the main reason people love cricket.. bcoz they perform..

With Shivendra back, attack would be superior
by Nitin Darji on Mar 05, 2010 04:38 PM

Shiv is returning after a 2 match ban. he is the speediest and most dangerous Indian forward and also scored the first goal against Pakistan. It would give Brasa more options.

Bad effect of money
by Amitha Patil on Mar 05, 2010 04:30 PM

This is because of 2 Lac / 1 lac announcement by Sahara India / IHF on victory over Pakistan. These guys should not be encouraged at the early stage. Re call the announcement.

Hockey debacle
by Nisar Ansari on Mar 05, 2010 04:29 PM  | Hide replies

I used to play hockey during the early 60s at the All India 'Varsities level. Then, there were fouls like wrong-side,obstruction,hitting the ball in the air,not taking ground shots which did not heat the wooden goal boards etc.Now there are no fouls whatsover except if you slap the referee. The foreign teams play a fast brawling game like a pack of jackals. Our players still play the old classic 'touch me not style' of hockey! Our players must become street-fighters.

I too played at college level during ‘80 and I agree with your views. The problem is that even now if you go and watch a match at school level, you will find that the “sir” will be insisting with the boys to play the “old styled Hockey” which is good for them only until university, state or national level. But once they are exposed to the international hockey they find it very difficult to adopt new techniques which is very natural.

What we need is to train the boys with “current style of Hockey” right from beginning, otherwise we will be unjustifiably blaming our teams. Actually we must sympathises and support our team because these guys are really working very hard and making good effort. The loss is not their fault, the blame should go to the administration not the present team.

Whats your issue ? I used it as a mark of respect. He is slightly elder to me. I could have used Bhai or Ji. I went with Bhai. It has nothing to do with underworld.

A loss is a loss,no matter by how many goals.Actually, when a team concedes 2 goals without reply, they must forget defence and all 10 players should go into attack mode.No point in defending to reduce the goals loss.
