Defence & sandip singh let down the team
by pradeep agarwal on Mar 05, 2010 06:15 PM  | Hide replies

The poor marking of Spanish forwards & ridiculous drag flicks by sandip Singh were mainly responsible for debacle against spain.Australia is far better team & losing against them was no disgrace.

Spain is No. 3 in the world and captain leads from front. Just look at the goals scored by Amat. Simply Great!

Hockey or Cricket - No difference in Competitive sport
by S Shrikanth on Mar 05, 2010 05:45 PM  | Hide replies

Its IHF who is responsible for this performance.Hockey India formed this team only 6 months back. And to the suprise this team did not play even a single International match prior to World cup while other teams had formed their World cup teams 2 years back. The players had to take a strong stance as their salaries were not paid for a long time.

Lets talk about Cricket now. Can ysomebody tell which major championship Indian team has won in last 7 years? Indian Cricket team lost against minnows Bangladesh and Srilanka in last World cup and crashed out in first round. And what about their first round defeats in T20WC 2008, ICC CT 2005 and recently ICC CT 2009? Our cricket team is good only in bi-lateral series played on home soil which is heavily manipulated.

Otherwise Indian cricket team is a big DUD in spite of being huge money earner and corporate support.

go home guys....no one is blaming u....indians are not cut out for it....we love to chat, discuss, argue, beat our chest with pride and prejudice!!! with great difficulty, indian cricket team is struggling to maintain its no.1 ranking while almost losing it!!! we can understand the pain of the indian sportsmen!!! we we were smarter and realised it long long back and never made any sports as our profession!!! it is better late than never to come out smarter!!! atleast being gud chatterboxes, please get into commentary and make some moolah than trying to compete in global sports!!!! and please take this as a lesson and dont misguuide ur children in making them believe they can achieve anything by having sheer determination and hard work!!!!! please clearly point it out to them that we are not genetically built that way!!! cut off all international sports channels in ur TV so that the children dont get carried away unless u r commenting in that match!!! give them loads of books to improve india's literacy and teach them this: "PARTICIPATION IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN WINNING" but also be clear to them "DONT EVEN PARTICIPATE IN INTERNATIONAL SPORTS" if they wish to retain their self-respect!!!

IHF is right
by R Balasubramanian on Mar 05, 2010 05:20 PM  | Hide replies

with the dismal performance against australia and spain, the team india have no right/no face to complain about IHF. The praise showered on the players and the reward announced by Sahara should be pulled back.
Now Hockey team knows better why cricketers in India are patronized and handsomely rewarded. Danraj Pillai should read this and start searching his soul as to whether his unwanted comments on the team management is right?

We are a countery of emotional people & always build castle in the air.Did coach ever projected India for a chance in Semi? he was very clear about our abilities & it was media that created unnecessary hype without substance. We have a good coach & some youngsters who if allowed time & resources will certainly show good results before next olympics.

dance in pub, drive on road over drunk, beat up cops who apprehend, rape innocent school girls returning home, damage public properties without knowing the reason,go on snap strike without knowing the cause and demand quota/reservation when it is not deserving.
Pakistan will be laughing in closed doors.
