What he said was right.Why spend crores on a show off piece when with same money you could have improved sports infrastructure in India.Now only ones benefitted are babus, netas, business men and others in Delhi.

Whatever your grouses against the games are,you cannot say that your country's pride should take a beating just to satisfy your ego,or just to prove that you were on the other side. How is it that such a third rate person was a part of the civil services. What are the norms for chosing a person. He is a shame to the nation,to think that any event however much you are against it,is a failure just for the sake of satisfying your ego. Shamless Manishankar Aiyar and of course the party which supported him to be a part of parliament.
Mr Aiyar is not happy about common wealth games. He is like the fox and the sour grapes. He is worried that he could not get any hand on the 35000crores put up for the games. He was a ex-sports minister, and if he thinks india does not need sports then why the hell was he a sports minister.

I do not think Mr. Aiyar is even an MP. He lost his seat in the last election, and that is the reason for expressing his frustration. It is clearly a case of sour grapes. Let us see what action Madame Gandhi takes on a person who is supposed to be a big fan of the Nehru Gandhi parivar.
He should be booted out from the Congress for his unpatriotic comments, especially since the Commonwealth games are being held when Congress is ruling the country.
