Federer to meet Safin
by vijay rao on Jan 21, 2009 01:39 PM  | Hide replies

Roger Federer the 13 grandslam winner willl win this title also, "the 14th grandslam winner".
The peoples were dreaming about how to chase final test of grandslam and become Gandslamwinner. But in Roger federer case there was no such dream but it comes true in all Grandslam Test.

She s not good enough ....it's that simple
by Ranjit Lall on Jan 21, 2009 01:36 PM  | Hide replies

Sania MIrza I am sorry to say is All Hype and No Substance and she will never ever win a major tornament forget about a Grand Slam in this lifetime. Three reasons why she cant do it are 1) A very weak serve by international standards 2)Inconsistent ground strokes and too many unforced errors and 3)Her repeated susceptibility to all kinds of injuries - big and small which then become a convenient excuse for not performing on the BIG STAGE !!!

Your right ranjit. she is just not good enough, not to belittle her efforts but this is what you can expect of her. We are so eager to prove ourselves on the world stage that we forget that there are limitations to sportspersons we produce. The interest has to come from individual indians to come forward and support any sport by way of sending their kids or encouraging a particular sport. unfortunately that does not happen. the positive thing happening is that more and more indians have taken a liking to other sports in recent times. At least you see kids at tennis courts now which was not to be a few years back.

sania is actually paid by sponsors for only upto 1st round..that is the most important clause in her contract.
beyond that if she goes.. she gets bonus..
i dont know why travel money is wasted on her.. to send her to so far. for 1-2 rounds..to many countries..
its such a waste.. paid vacation n spectator..after 1-2 rounds..useless..
how many years will she need to improve.. if she was in another country.. she would never even be picked to play for state..

you say "if she was in another country" well, it is also quite possible if she was in another country with more domestic competition she (Sania) might have gone far ahead. Just think of the possibility.
