Give him a boot
by AswathaKumar Kamale on Sep 05, 2008 05:59 PM

If the Hon'ble political boss is not made responsible for his actions and gets boot, how will the sports improve.
The person should get what he deserves even if it is a kick..

Dispense with all sports associations
by Shailendra Parmar on Sep 05, 2008 05:35 PM  | Hide replies

We should dispense with all associations as they do no good but only hinder the growth. When someone achieves something they will come running to have their photos clicked and stake their claim in that person's achievement. India will always produce some miraculous performance despite all the bottlenecks so who needs these power hungry corrupt politicians to just make holidays trips in business class at tax payers expense.
We all hate BCCI for their pathetic approach and money making tactics but at least our cricketers are stuffed with money and cannot complain.

This guy is a hoax
by pradeep agarwal on Sep 05, 2008 05:34 PM

Kalmadi & his likes are a curse on Indian sports. It is high time to introduce a legislation that governing bodies of games can only have selector & secretary from ranks of players who have represented contry at National level. These politicians & IASofficers should br barred from holdin any executive posts in IOA or for that matter any sports federation

Publish this everywhere

A very hard hitting article...the sports admin guys...if they have a bit of self respect / shame / hurt, will quit their posts or at least offer an apology to the public. Acts like this can happen only in INDIA and we can expect this because most of the top officials have no background in any sport and just don't have what it takes to appreciate an achievment in sports. They should be demanded to come out with details of how the money granted for sports so far has been spent...a shame really and rediff can do a small service by not removing this article for another fortnight...this article should be published in major newspapers and in as many languages as possible.

Long live such 'efficient' officials and let the suffering and cheap treatment of national heroes continue eternally in INDIA

Shameless politician
by bimlesh mishra on Sep 05, 2008 04:49 PM  | Hide replies

What else do we expect from a shameless politician like Mr Kalmadi. Such people will rubbish such awesome fact finding articles exposing their corrupt methods . This same idiot Kalmadi was not even there when Vijender was being given the bronze medal. He was busy travelling to the bars and pubs of Beijing along with his family which was there to "support Indian athletes".

Shame on you Mr Kalmadi. If you have even an iota of self respect left, leave IOA for a better guy , preferably a great Olympian.

Next thing we will see is some Kalmadi stooge noticing this article on rediff...Mr Kalmadi will be informed, he will talk to I& B Minister Priya ranjan Das Munshi ( himself an inept sports body cheif) who will pressurize to take out this article.

Hail our politicians.Shameless fools
