Congratulations in advance for becoming world champion
by Ram Sharma on Oct 27, 2008 10:43 AM

Congratulations in advance for becoming world champion. It is a real comodity for us. Bcz we hardly get medals in Olympics. Cricket cahmpionship is meaningless, as it is played only in a few former British colonies and it, specially test cricket, is a game for the lazy.

In cricket, out of 22 only 13 players r on the ground at any given moment. Next, test cricket goes on for 5 days. Even one day cricket takes one whole day. Compare it with other games like football, basket ball, table tennis, tennis, volley ball etc., here most of the players hv always to b on alert.

Incredible !
by ganesh tambat on Oct 27, 2008 10:02 AM

This is an incredible achievement ! Anand can easily be crowned as the best sportsperson India has produced.

In a game completely dominated by Russians and with no tradition to back him what he has achieved is simply great ! So many times people have played politics to deny him chances or to make it harder for him.

But now that he has won every possible World Championship format, I guess its time for everyone to accept Anand as one of the greatest chess player of all time.

Anand had his own time this time...
by Padmavathi Madduru on Oct 27, 2008 09:41 AM  | Hide replies

Well done Anand...
I was following this game along with all other games live.
One time I would have thought that Anand lost this time... at that moment both had time trouble around the 30- 40 th moves, this led Anand off the hook. Kremnik playing back, throughout this game had the slight hedge over Anand, but never materialise it. Just on the 40th move, where the time was increased, though Anand was a pawn down manoeuvred his Rook to f2 and from then onward kept his cool.

Good thing I had seen about Anand is that he had learned to take his time, rather than rushing in a hurry.

Now it’s a matter of time he’ll be crown as the newly unified World Chess Champion.
And hope that his legacy would produce much more talents in India and around Asia.

A very superficial understanding of the game.

Please look at some expert analysis on the game no. 9 and comment, instead of dsplaying your ignorance here.

And don't be so patronising, dear! It is a negative attitutde.
