I was going through the messages posted by the fans of both the clubs. Chelsea fans are crying a lot saying they played better football and deserved to win. Yes they did play quality football, and it was expected of a team which boasts of players like Ballack, Lampard, Ashley Cole, Joe Cole, Drogba among others. But the fact is, had Man Utd converted the 2 first half goals which they missed, then I doubt Chelsea would have been able to come back in the team. But thats football, you sometimes score from difficult positions and sometimes you miss simple chances. But whatever the case, it was a truly wonderful display of skill and grit by both the team. But one player who should be brought to task is Drogba. Had he not been sent out, the story might have been different. But being a Man Utd supporter, I am truly enjoying the double win by the team this year. Way to go.....

Tarun basu ( the famous goalie of seventies ?? ) Sudhir Karmakar, Habib and the rest .. Surojit Sengupta,, gautam Sarkar r some of the other names that come readily to one's mind ..... brought bk memories of glorious seventies of Calcutta football ...

i am from mumbai where epl and likes are slowly started to overshadow crickket...football ofcourse is more played only in schools...when we have places like goa, kerala nad calcutta....add to that punjab, delhi and mumbai why are we still struggling to break even in top 100....
i feel all matches (top level) should be played at night...and we should have a fitness regime (main area y we lag) froms school days onwards
Glory glory ManU, you did it again! I love to see Man u keep going like dis. But, frankly Chelsea played better then ManU last night. Luck is against them from past 2 seasons.

by madan menon on May 22, 2008 11:26 AM that's the spirit. Chelsea played better but lost on shoot out. In fact there was hardly anything to choose between the two. Both were excellent. While congratulating Man U for winning we should also thank Chelsea for puting such a tough fight before losing narrowly. Better luck next time Chelsea, keep fighting.

Chelsea played better only in the 2nd half. In short, both teams fought tooth and nail and there was nothing to choose between them! But if you look the statistics, Utd were the better team. Almost 60% of the possession, 8 shots on target compared to chelsea's 7 and only 5 shots off target compared to chelsea's 18!! tHIS was an excellent match and I thought Chelsea won it just before JT slipped. Utd rock on, Glory glory Man Utd!
I m watching EPL & champions league for the last 5 yers but that was the most satisfying moment for me as a fan to see MAN U wins this prestigious Trophy
Wondering why the big guns always misfire when it comes to penalty shootout decider. But match was worth watching till 3.30 AM IST. VAN DER SAR as usual saved the day for Reds.
28 shots, 2 struck at goal post, 8 corners say all. 1st Half credit to ManU, 2nd half till last penalty shoot out, CHelsea deserve to win. Cant believe Terry one of the highest paid and team captain slip.
Chelsea came so close, 1 inch away yet so far now. Gotta wait for another time.
Will I be shy away to say Chelsea were bettter team than ManU today? No, Chelsea were far better team tonight. Lucky ManU!

United had more shots on target than Chelsea, 8, compared to chelsea's 7 and chelsea had more shots off target compared to Utd , a whopping 18, compared to Utd's miserly 5! And Man uTD HAd 60% of the possession, so u tell me who the better team was. Even though I'm a Man Utd fan, I have to say there was nothing to choose between the teams. Congrats to Utd and commiserations to Chelsea!

For once Man u won a match which they didnt deserve to win at all. Commensurations to Terry and Lampard they really played thier heart out. n as usual best actor in football history Christiano Ronaldo celebrates..huh!! Awesome game though.
