Interest among school kids and college crowd all over India is high coz of epl and champions league..with a month to go for euro 2008 i think academys should have some programs to target young ppl....

btw laliga might be tech superior to epl but as a viewer epl is more exciting...its same as horse derby (laliga) and formula 1 (epl)

i do agree wid u .. if u say luc or fluke .. wat abt Lampard goal .. Is tht a screamer .. Nothin of tht sort .. evry goal is done by opponents mistake .. it can b Van der Sar slip'g for Lampard's Goal , or Terry slip'g on taking d penalty .. or Van der sar saving Anelka .. evrythin is by sheer reflex @ d moment .. pls don't say luc .. Nothin comes for easy in thiz world ..

people who know nothing abt football knows abt english football... EPL is for those who gained knowledge abt football thru those ESPN-STAR football programmes.

those people live in a fools paradise believing that EPL is the best that football has to offer and tht the english football team is amongst the best in the business.

wake up guys.. EPL is popular not cos of its class but cos of the most poweful media on the planet... British Media. same is rue for England's national team.

Let me clarify
by cdcontent cdcontent on May 22, 2008 12:20 PM  | Hide replies

In my previous post I had written that a close cricket match (T20) is far better than a close football match. Let me prove my point. In football the only interesting part are the passes and the goals and in Cricket theres alot more like runouts (direct or indirect), catches ( brilliant ones or dropped), fours sixes and now the latest addition is the bowl-outs. All the above things become even more interesting when its kinda see-saw battle where no clear winner is decided until the last over or the last ball is bowled. Guys do u'll remember during the last Ashes series in England when Cricket had overtaken Football in the media and that too it was a test series!!! Am happy that we Indians love Cricket. Its the right sport worth spending the time especially T20:) By the way i hate Test Cricket

In Cricket, matches are won when 2 or 3 play and the others flop. In Football, you need all 11 to play as a team. That is what makes it more popular and fun to watch. Your technical points do not hold much water.

Nagesh dont forget the 11 fielders on the cricket field are there to out the batsmen through catching or running them out. Theres slow bowling, theres spin, theres field placing according to the batsmens strengths and weaknesses. Theres alot of thinking involved in Cricket. Cricket rules...

basic difference between Cricket and Football is that Football is for men and cricket is for pansies, weaks and players with sub-standard levels of physical fitness

I dont think it right to compare one game with the other. I love watching both cricket and football.
That said, I would respond to 'cdcontent cdcontent'.
Football penalizes you for your mistakes a lot more than cricket does. A dropped catch is not as critical as a defenders mistake. If one wicket falls, there are others who can bat. One goal down and its difficult. Two and it is close to impossible that you can get back. A goal could be scored in the last minute [Man U were famous for 90 scores in early 2000s]. There is a lot of skill in football that you need to appreciate to understand.

You are right dude, During cricket matches, we can talk freely! we can gossip, we can have food, we can take bath, we can sleep, we also can do little bit shopping.

In football matches you can do any of the above. Becuase you are fully engrossed in mtach!!???
