media ,govt nd corporate world needs to take initiative
by hindustani on Mar 11, 2008 07:09 PM

If hockey needs to be revived in this country govt must provide patronage to it...Schools nd colleges must introduce this game compulsorily but problem is that only few schools have grounds for hockey nd most of the time these grounds are occupied by cricket players...problem with this game is that its injury prone also ....that is one of the reason why most people opt out of it...whenevr hockey was played in my school someone was sure to get injury...govt needs to spend the money at grassroot level to mend the things...corporate world also needs to do some favour to this country by sponsoring some players....media is also to be blamed for present debacle....times of india was so apathetic to this game that it didnt even report the victory in Asia cup...once a superpower india is now nowhere bcause of such neglegence

Hockey administration and players !!!!!Dont forget when we won in 1980 , all the top teams had withdrawn !!!!
If you blame Cricket or say any other sport, four fingers directs to hockey !!!! Has Cricket got any support from the Govt????Its all abt marketing and couple of victories in 1983 and 1985-86... They took advantage of it !!!!
This year was best for hockey for India since chakde film , still silly and stupid idiot people who run hockey could not cash on it !!!! What more you need ????

I think there are not many people in our country who play Hockey... The level and competition of this Sport at the Domestic Level has gone down drastically.... While the same has been more challenging and more tough in Cricket... and hence the Result...

People like Mr. Gill and Mr. Dasmunshi are responsible for todays doomed state of hockey and football. They should be kicked out immediately and fresh administrators should be brought in to develope the infrastructure of these games.

Foul play
by Nemediyah on Mar 11, 2008 05:24 PM

Your players were shown 4 yellow cards (in 2 games) against GB. Reports said they engaged in very rough play. Is that how you coached them, if you can not win on the field, then kill the opponent? Very shameful.
