Sania mania....
by johny a on Feb 07, 2008 03:18 PM  | Hide replies

The tree that bears more and tasty fruits has to face more stones. Sania achieved her sucess with hard work and determination, not with any kind of favours or fixings. There is no medicine for jealosy. She has not insulted the national flag intentionaly. The plant is showing between her foot and flag proves that there is a gap between foot and flat. If we take image from one particular direction, it will look very close, though actually it is far away. How can we say that our leaders are not insulting our national and flag by breaking the promises/oaths taken in the name of even God. After independence & republic days, several flats are throwing in the gutters and road sides. Who cares for it? There should be a limit for allegations. Instead of encouraging don't discourage a upcoming sportsperson.

She has been subjected to constant pressure for her dress codes. Well, do criticizing indians, who have sued her for mere fame and glory want her to wear suit and play tennis? what about cricket players taking off shirts on the field (women fans both on and off field have never complained), isnt that against indian ethics? She missed the opportunity, because she cant focus on the game because every game she played leads to a controversy in the form of suing. These critizing indians (flag issue, dress code) etcc, need to first read the rules of playing the game before minding in her business. Iam sorry to say this, India would be a developing country for ages, never a developed in 2020 aS his highness Dr.APJ wants it to be. She should meet Prof Dr. APJ once to get a moral boost for her career, for he was the peoples president.

The decision has nothing to do with controversies as she has claimed! It is just a fall out of the decision of KSLTA not to pay her huge sums of appearance money (which she apparently shares with Mr Mahesh Bhupathy, the politician of Indian Tennis)!!!! Disgusting!!!!

Not to Play Bangalore / Not a mature approach
by pangaliya on Feb 07, 2008 03:14 PM  | Hide replies

She needs to mature (I mean mentally to handle the pressure). Pysical maturity she looks great.

Also I feel she needs to have a good manager who can help her to overcome these situation and handle them professionally.

Good Clean Girl - with clear goals, ambitions and aspirations.

I agree... moreover, I think she needs some legal assistance to protect herself from the pressure from media and those idiots who keep on irritating her through fatwas and PILs... Once she quietens them with a legal notice or a court order, they won't dare to trouble her...

Sania and Mahesh : Are they real couple?
by Pratap Sahu on Feb 06, 2008 08:05 PM  | Hide replies

I have noticed from very beginning of sania started her career, she has much respect for Mahesh as compared to Leander. Now Mahesh's company Gobosport is not organiser of Bangalore Open which it was organising till 2006. Again Sania is not offered a hepty amount. Again Beau Mahesh has told her not to participate. she said her manager told like to do so. Its Globosport managing her affairs. So its Mahesh the real culprit.. whether u believe or not...

Ok. How about you stop ads in India? Listen, Sania ---
by C Kr on Feb 06, 2008 06:37 PM  | Hide replies

Ok, you really should settle and play on in another country cos most in India don't realize you're marginally better than current players. That might help. However:
- You'd likely lose big time early in Bangalore. Why get embarrassed? Better to lose faraway.
- You really aren't a big champ. For very mediocre achievements, you've been sensationalized by India's II rate media, and comedians that observe any half-step you do. The latter is unfair to you.
- Perhaps you'd do a lot better away from the attention, unless you really want it.
- At 21 many have had multiple GSlam or at least Tier I titles. Seeing you play, that is not happening now.
- Consider yourself a trailblazer for now, and maybe someone else will come along because of you and be a real achiever.
-That doesn't mean you deviate, and try to mop up ads $$ and build a tennis academy.
- Maybe you'll stop advertising products in India? Only fair.

Very well said! The last time she shot for an ad film in India she had to face a controversy - will she stop shooting for ads in India? Sania, you are a good tennis player, definitely not the best, and remember that you have won just one tournament so far, that too at your hometown, which didn't have any major players in the draw! Stop acting as if Indian Tennis will go down the drain if you don't support it! I suggest that you shift to USA and don't ever come back! We could do without snobbish people like you!

What a shame SANIA!
by on Feb 06, 2008 05:56 PM  | Hide replies

She felt as hurted as she refused 2 play in INDIA.she doesn't hve any regret dishonoring national flag, which is more than just a cloth 4 millions of Indians wo has respect even 2day 4 national symbols. That incidence might b done unintentionally bt y so shame abt confessing it.She won't remember when Liender Pace hve tears of happiness, holding bronze medal, hearing national anthem, which might b just a song 4 Sania. It was more emotional moment 4 him than winnig one.
Beside tennis learn some patriotism from Liender,Sania.

Sania
by Antony on Feb 06, 2008 11:58 AM

Now a days sports is more a mind game than technical knowledge of game. A natural corollary is to fight the ancillary issues attached to the game. If Sania is backing out then she is accepting defeat without a fight.

Sometimes she has to behave too
by Ray on Feb 06, 2008 11:54 AM

I would certainly support her for the decision she took. But i think she is arrogant. Her arrogance has to come down and let her mind do some thinking about what she does and what she says? Her body language says everything about her arrogance. But i might be wrong too
