This is exactly is the reason for India's no show. GG brought his frusration, immediately 2 people resonding how many medals won? Entire 1.2 billion does this way. So no results.
Its typical Indian excuse. "If others are bad, non-achievers or losers, what's wrong if I am one of them??"
People dont realise that she was carrying injury yet she traveeled all the way to beijing and played her heart for the country. Also she dint have any sponsors when she first came to the scne, unline Mr Bindra, who had a millionaire dad. Sania came up the hard way. And what she gives out is confidence, not arrogance. Give her time and she'll beat sharapora, serena one day. She needs luck, and a little support and love. Not mocking her at losing in '2nd round'

It is her arrogance only, she appeared in casuals in the parade being watched by millions bringing shame to the country. She was well aware of her injury then why she participated.Another girl cud have got a chance to participate and get some experience of the olympics. One thing is sure her picture comes in the print, her PRO is very good.

Even though i praise saina (badminton) much but these sania & sunita also deserve praise.
Its about opposition(TOP SEED) you lose to not the round(2nd Round).
They loose to TOP Seeded player, so appreciate their fight.

Its all the more worst.. You are spoiling the chances of another upcoming player to go their play. Why dont you look it this way....
What about another player in the waiting who might have missed a chance due to this known mistake by Sania and the politicians surrounding her...
RE:Sania deserves support, not critics!!
by rajesh r on Aug 14, 2008 09:04 AM
nischal...sport is sthng where irrespective of politcal support u have to go there and perform. u just show me one other player who could have defeated sania, even with san playing half fit. chin up dude.
All these sentiments are bluff. What we must understand that we do not have talents in any game and you can not create talents overnight. This is a long process and should be started at early age. There is no sacrifice if your children are picked up for training if they have talents, say at the age of 3 or 4 years and let them train. Normally what medals we get are simple flukes, even Abhinav's was a fluke in the sense that it was neither planned nor expected. You kill the talent by showering fortunes on such fluke achievements, look at Rathore the shooter. You don't win by flukes.

it needs dedication and facility .. also encouragement.. which India we dont hav right now... except for the junk group games like cricket.. wer a individual player need not perform in each game...never any Indian cricketer is consistent.. but we prasie and abuse them...
but see most of the guys who won the gold r not flukes..
Think for the fate of country...of 1 billion people ..We are so elated with 1 billion people brining one gold. rest of the team goes there does its part and comes back with the creamy face...Not even a pinch of remorse..That's why we say Mera Bharat Mahan...Cricketer go and lose to bangladesh ..Still Mera bharat mahan...We can do miracle..Kisi se bhi har sakte hai kisi bhi field mei..No matter what..Jeet gaye to ram bharose..otherwise no questions asked no responsiblity held..Shame Shame..

This is an example of empty brain, you want gold medals ?? go to china, do you know what they do to get the gold medals? they pick the kids 3/4 yr old and put them through rigorous training day in and day out, parents cannot complain, kids cannot complain because it is a military rule. will you sacrifice your kids for gold medals ? Thank god you live in a country where they value your freedom more than the gold medals at olympics.

You see the freedom on streets when the whole country is taken to ransom by Bands, strikes for flimsy reasons like Amarnath land scam. You call it freedom ? It is shameless might of political parties.

I am sorry to say this Rajesh but people like u r big loosers in life, instead of rectifying the mistakes and realizing that we have made blunders in the Olympics u support loosers in our country with crap like panchavi pass kids and all that. If everybody thinks like u God forbid what will happen to this nation, please remember 1 think we lack dedication and no point supporting these spiritless guys who have put our country to shame. No killer instinct in any of our players. How come Sania Mirza gets so much time for modelling and hardly any time for playing, she has more time for modelling than even Roger Federer and that's the reason Federer is there. Seriously with 1 Billion people and only 1 Gold is a shame for the country where countries like Korea,Singapore, Japan with a much lesser population have significant number of medals. Blame it on our corrupt bureaucrats who have no outlook and are only busy filling their pocket. Obviously when we have leaders like Sonia , Mulayam, Mayawati etc only God can create miracles.
India always has the largest contingent, base on connections and nepotisms, its got nothing to do with winning or national pride. Its all about a free trip for family and friends.

Indian contigent doesn't go to Olympics based on connections, but based on hope. Since there is not much hope from anyone, there is hope in numbers ... so the govt. sends more
Of all those who don't win any medals, how do you say who should have gone and who shouldn't have ??

Dude, they lost 6-4, 6-4 - that means the two girls put up a decent fight. It wasn't that they went down 6-0 or 6-1
you gotta respect what we have, and appreciate what they have accomplished. It's not easy to get to where Sania has reached.

Mr, Loan Shark, Fight...u call her losing in the 1st round as Fight...shame on u...It would be befitting calling Saina nehwal losing in the quarterfinals as a fight not sania losing in the first round.

Recent performance is far far from satisfactory. The opening cermony of the olympics was an ample proof that the duo had not gone to play tennis and there were cover ups. Olympics is not only a personal pride but the pride of nation too. Going down fighting is one thing surrendering meekly is another. They are good players need to concentrate more in their game. If not others must be allowe to play for the country. Our federataions will now have to invest heavily in grooming players for the up comming events in near future.
