2nd round is the limit the Indian sensation can stretch upto. She can never be in the top 30s or more. For tennisWorld she is already old. Look at Hingis, Monika, Steffi, Kim clijsters already retired. upto what age should we look sania to win WTF tournament. Let her compete in the veteran tournament she may cross the hurdle of second round. I bet

Rediff should not invite any comments on Indian Tennis & cricket legends.rediff knows it very well that the Tennis sensation & present flop cricketers are gone of the days to be adorned of or worshipped. It should be known that when someone writes bad comments on somebody it is a flow of negative energy & may do a lot of harm to an individual who is reacting adversely.

now what do I personally suggest is that let us invite discussions on Spirituality which may be beneficial to every individual. Let us share the knowledge of what is to be done & what is not to be done?

Sania is a good poster girl. I like her game, she is one of the hardest hitters, if not, the hardest, in women's tennis today. Besides, she is glamorous. Here is her largest collection ever online (i have not seen anything like it) http://www.indialens.com/saniaspecial

and those people who say that we have to stop watching cricket to encourage other sports are also fools of the highest order.

even worse are people who jump on the jealousy card when someone tries to point out a Sania's weaknesses.

i am of the opinion that "Sania wins first round" or "Dhoni gets two world records" etc should surely be reported in rediff but it should be in the sports section.

I am really of sick the stupid ignoramuses with a poor excuse for a human brain trying to diss sania and that too because of inherent stupidity rather than any informed criticism.

first of all ,less than brilliant/knowledgeable people are usually not a good judge for talent.will never be.

To identify startegic areas in a field required for success and see how they can applied sucessfully in the real world,, you need familiarity and serious knowledge of the subject.

Anybody with less than that who think they know more than others are the perfect blueprint for a fool.

We have this poor creature named AB who with his limited knowledge thinks he can lecture others.

What illiterate fools of his ilk have to udnerstand , there are far more knowledgeable people on planet earth fortunately who can judge things much better than these two bit analysts ever can dream of.

These ignorant need some basic lessons.

First when a talent is identified, it does not mean the kid will achieve results within the next fortnight.

Its a long process of working on your game,on your maturity ,building on previous experience till it reaches maturity to challenge the world.

Some people do it early. some people put things together only later.Individuals are different.

so we cannot say.

Initially the hype is only about potential. its not about perforamnce.

When it comes to immature young players, you expect them to grow up nurturing their game, learning from their previous

that is the key , "they have to learn from past mistakes". if people do not learn from their mistakes and ignore the weaknesses in spite of the evidence, they fall in the "damn arrogant" category.

Dear Sathya,
You are a Wimbledon champion expert know-it-all, aren't you? Everybody who disagrees with you, and questions your horny adoration is an illiterate fool, is it?
So be it, my friend. I will not bother to respond to you directly, as your arrogance shows you to be low-end life-form with frustrations, who to channel his angst in faceless forums.
All your vitriol is rather amusing, as all of you did not refer to the post I had made at all. I was not attacking Sania! All I was questioning was your lower than average brain which glorifies mediocrity, and beleives that this is as good as it will get.
So my "ilk" as you you put it, will continue to question the song and dance about 1 victory, as I see many here who do.
You are an imbecile, with his brain in the groin, who obviously supports the girl for her other attributes. Wake up and smell the coffee. Comparing Sani to Federed is like drawing parallels between Bhaichung and Maradona, or Chris Gayle with Sachin. Shows what an expert you are!
As for your premise on young talent - newsflash, dude. Steffi Graf, after 2 Grand Slams, had retired by 26. The sell-by date in women's tennis is now late-teens/early twenties. Do you see Sania, with her fitness, health, weight, attitude and work ethic do anything by then? I dont think so.
Talent is there, but without attitude and will to win, it is worthless. It may get dumb fans like you, an "expert", and some headlines in India, but nothing beyond.
You happy with that?

analyse this!
by coldkiller on Jun 12, 2007 07:46 PM

we need people who can truly analyse sports.the media and the fans either worship a person when he/she is doing well or over criticise when he/she stats losing. even though Sania is the best player in the country she has a long long way to go before she becomes world class. in spite of experts pionting out that her serve needs correction, she arrogantly keeps on defending herself citing reasons such as injuries. so let us encourage her but not say she is world class. i sincerely hope that she lerns to keep a cool head amidst the hype surrounding her or she'll suffer the same fate as the ex-cricketer like Laxman SivaramaKrishnan who couldn't handle stardom.

Agreed that Cricket is played by only 10 nations but does that make it easy to win any trophies. if that was the case an average team like India could have won two/three world cups. how many teams play rugby at the highest level? yet it is very very competitive. and people who say that individual sport is tougher than team sport are just stupid jokers who havent' played anything even in their backyard.

Sania has the full freedom to appear in ads and make as much money coz the tennis career is short but it is a fact that her pretty face and physique have added to her ad value. it is also a known fact that PT Usha didn't get many ads because she was not pretty. all these years i have only seen her in a 'tender coconut water' ad. i think she is the best athlete India has ever produced. she still remains an idol for me.

Can someone ask her to go on a diet or something?Ugly bulges of fats yuck!!!Yes..i agree she has hounoured india and is a inspiration for the sportsmen in india, i think she should focus more on matches than on advertisement, food and entertainment.
