Shame on you Mr. Kalmadi
by Rishi on Aug 04, 2004 04:25 PM

Hi ..

Since childhood, we had image of P T Usha and Olympics as a having a close relationship. All the laurels she brought to the country are now being disparaged and mistreated. Mr. Kalmadi, your nasty politics looks fine when its your parliament and your even minded brothers/sisters.

The puddle that has been created on this issue has left me woebegone for the spirit of sports and sportsmanship that runs in the blood of devoted sportsmen in our country. Calling film stars for such an event and making it flimsy justifies the frivolousness of our politicians. Like their election campaign, they are treating this Olympic Torch rally, which in fact stands for a spirit that runs in all of us, when we discard regional differences and indulge in positive sports.

Shame on you Mr. Kalmadi, for spoiling this spirit with what you think and do. We all pity you and your community which stands in silence to all this drama.

Shame on IOA
by josyula kiran on Jun 11, 2004 01:57 AM

I get the impression that the tourch run was organized by fools. If you cannot recollect or recognise P T Usha Mr Kalmadi you dont deserve the post any more. All sports people should have boycotted the run ..so that Amir Khan, Mr Kalmadi, Mailaka Arora, some other Bolly wood or Business people could have accommodated

Take it easy PT
by senthil on Jun 10, 2004 06:32 PM

I think PT Usha should not let her ego crowd her judgement. With the kind of beauracratic set up we have there is bound to be lapses. She should go for it !!!

Usha not invited
by Anand on Jun 10, 2004 05:06 PM

This is what the country gives to athletes who do toil so hard to earn the name for country ? Most of the atheletes like Usha are self made. They never had big sponsors like cricketers and never made huge money. They should at least be given the respect they deserve. I am from Pune and am ashamed to have elected a guy like Kalmadi who boasts to be a sports lover and when he is in IOC, the sportspersons are being humiliated. Its time all athelets came together and made a big protest.

regarding PTUsha
by ehtiram raza khan on Jun 10, 2004 04:40 PM

It is really sad that P.T.Usha was ignored for the event. It's really tragic...

Why the hell are cricketers, filmstars others invited leaving aside atheletes, hockey players etc.

Why are Ads carrying only Amir Khan, Bipasha or Vivek shown on TV, magazines or newspapers? Who is Vivek or Bipasha anyway? Amir Khan can be accepted but as the last choice.

It is this attitude that has ruined other sports and we are lagging behind except cricket. How can we forget Mohd Shahid from the list of invitees.

Is desh ka Allah hi malik hai.......

Dear Corporates and Media,
Dont worry, there are hundreds of models roaming around the mumbai and delhi streets. Pick one which suits you. What if Usha do not carry the torch!?

well done P.T. Usha
by P.A. NAIR on Jun 10, 2004 04:05 PM

Well done Usha. Your refusal to attend the function is definitely a slap on the IOA. IOA made it as a Bollywood run.
