The blame rests with Suresh Kalmadi, the head of Indian Olympic Association. When he was asked about this, he even tried to justify Usha's exclusion. The incident only shows that sportspersons are unimportant, the organizers and film stars are.
It is indeed very sad that a great sportsperson like P.T.Usha was ignored by the IOA. Kalmadi had let the whole of India down by doing such a thing. Why do we need someone like Rani or Aamir or Shewag to carry the torch. What is their contribution to Olympics.
Only sportspersons who have made a name related to Olympics should have the privilage to carry the torch. Down with Kalmadi !!
