by Sreejith R.S. on Oct 22, 2018 09:35 AM

railways should increase light intensity, railway should blow horn, railway should raise track...but we will not use common sense.after seeing news, my 5 yesr old child asked me that why they stood on railway track, i also see left and right before crossing road, i was taught in nursery. we indians are becoming morons in the garb or religion and getting worse by the day.

Tragedy...
by ASHOK UPADHYAYA on Oct 22, 2018 09:19 AM

The approach of people to Railway is ridiculous... It is observed that even gate is closed people try to cross tracks... even when gate is being closed people bow down n cross the tracks....people walk on tracks carry vehicles for short cut n save petrol.... when there is unmanned crossing without checking left right slowing down vehicles people cross the crossing ... numbers of such accidents have taken place due to negligence of drivers... children students Are killed.... even then people do not learn lesson....

Amritsar Tragedy
by Ashok Sapre on Oct 22, 2018 09:05 AM

It is ridicules to put the blame of driver or railway authorities. All over India it is mentioned st railway stations and railway gates not to cross the railway tracks but people here are so adamant that they perhaps get pleasure in ingoring the rules. It may sound a bit rude but how can people stand on the railway tracks whether they are at ground level or elevated as is mentioned in this article. Stop blamimg authorities if we do not want to obey the basic rules. The compensation in such cases is paid out of public money indirecctly.

‘Lesson to review inter-Governmental affairs’
by Dinesh Kumar Baradwaja on Oct 22, 2018 08:17 AM

The tragedy was avoidable. The facts based on media report suggest that i. inordinate delay in the function due to late Chief Guest arrival, ii. Poor, casual, non-strategic organisers attitude, iii. Lacunae in system of giving Local permissions, iv. Compromised local leadership and civilian responsibilities to bring facts on Railway lines and other related issues? Such tragic incidences warrants review of Indian ‘chalta -hi - chalne do’ attitude. This can be removed only after toughest punishment with public awareness is declared to every stake holder of this program. Secondly the country-wide Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) on permissions for carrying out any public program be reviewed implemented strictly with inter-Governmental approvals. In addition display of such approval in three languages (Hindi, English and local) be made mandatory so that onus will be on participants.

Railway accident near Amritsar
by jai ghosh on Oct 21, 2018 10:46 PM

I,no doubt feel sorry for the tragic accident that killed more than 50 innocent people. However, as some people are blaming the engine driver for it; I have a question for them and that is: what would have happened if the engine driver jammed on the brakes in such a case? The reply is obvious and hence i do not want to write it here.
